About the Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) Internship

Our Enterprise Risk Management Department is seeking an intern with strong communication, critical thinking, and organizational skills to join our internship program. This is an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on experience of third-party risk management protocols by supporting our enterprise-wide vendor risk management program.

Our ERM intern will join the Enterprise Risk Management team to assist in vendor risk management activities. In this role, the intern will learn how to use our enterprise GRC system and risk management processes to identify, manage, and report on vendor risks across the organization. An ideal candidate will be quick learners with a strong sense of initiative and ability to research and solve problems and can adapt quickly to the dynamic environment.  The intern will also strengthen analytical, communication, and presentation skills, which are immeasurable to future success.

Our intern will be a full member of our Enterprise Risk Management department, working in our fast-paced environment and contributing to our goals of integrated risk management and operational excellence. The intern will also be exposed to and work with team members in various risk and compliance roles with which we partner, including Business Resiliency, Information Security, Legal, and Procurement. This role will report to the Director of Enterprise Risk Management. Interns will work out of our Windward office in Alpharetta, GA.

Internship responsibilities

  • Prepare materials to facilitate risk discussions including agendas, minutes, presentation materials and ERM analysis

  • Participate in special projects and track and report on status, achievements, tasks, milestones, and risks

  • Work with ERM team members to manage communications received from vendor Relationship Managers 

  • Perform data entry of new or integrated vendors into the vendor inventory system

  • With significant direction by ERM Management, perform risk assessments of new or integrated vendors

  • Research regulatory requirements and best practices for enhancing the vendor risk management program

Requirements and qualifications

  • Active enrollment in or recent completion of a bachelor’s or master’s degree in Business/Management, Risk Management, Accounting/Finance, Pre-law, or other related analytical field

  • Demonstrable project management and organizational skills

  • Highly proficient in spreadsheet, email, and presentation software

  • Team player with strong communication, collaboration and time management skills

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet tight deadlines

  • A desire and eagerness to learn and share with others
