Technology & Systems Department

The Technology & Systems department drives technological innovation for the company and advances the technology strategy to support global growth. This includes IT, Software Development, OT / Automation Systems, and business process improvement. At Vantage, we are very hands on. In most cases, we specify, purchase, configure and maintain all networking and server hardware.

We also work closely with partner VARs to learn about the latest technology changes, so we can make informed purchase decisions. The Technology & Systems department participates in designing each of our new data center building’s networking infrastructure, including but not limited to diverse pathways connecting to carriers, meet-me room hosting (rack, cabs, ladders, cross connect panels…), wireless AP coverage, etc.

We rely on extreme collaboration with Sales, Construction, Operations and Corporate Functions to drive simplification, establish global standards with continuous improvement and speed to value. We are working to build a reliable, scalable, sustainable, and secure technology roadmap/landscape that enables us to better serve our customers and employees and be the partner of choice. Our focus is on speed to value with financial and execution field. We strive to double the good, halve the bad, in half the time.

Position Overview

This role will be based in: Denver, CO and is in alignment with our flexible work policy. (3 days on site required, 2 days flexible)

The Enterprise Architect plays a critical role in enabling business and IT leaders to make investment decisions that balance and prioritize current operational demands, disruptions, and opportunities with the longer-term strategic vision of the organization. The enterprise architect provides technology guidance, road maps, principles, standards, and best practices.

Essential Job Functions

Architectural Strategy & Governance:

• Develop and communicate architectural policies, standards, guidelines, and procedures.

• Manage exceptions to architectural standards at an enterprise level.

• Review and/or analyze and develop architectural requirements as needed for the organization.

• Approve modifications to the enterprise architecture to accommodate project needs.

Technology Leadership:

• Advise on options, risks, costs, system impacts, and technology priorities.

• Direct research and evaluation of emerging technologies, industry trends, and market advancements to ensure strategic alignment.

Business & IT Alignment:

• Collaborate with business leaders to understand business requirements and help them understand how technology trade-offs influence strategy.

• Consult with project teams to fit projects to enterprise architecture, as well as to identify when it is necessary to modify the enterprise architecture.

Solution Design & Oversight:

• Ensure the conceptual completeness of technical solutions.

• Ensure recommendations are based on business relevance, appropriate timing, and deployment.

Collaboration & Communication:

• Partner with project management and IT leaders to ensure progress towards architectural alignment with project goals and requirements.

Additional Duties:

• Handle additional duties as assigned by Management.

Job Requirements

Education:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Computer Engineering, System Analysis, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.

Experience:

• 10 or more years of IT and business/industry work experience as an architect or engineer in any two technology domains: security, application, software development, infrastructure, or network.

• Experience in leading multiple, large, cross-functional teams or projects, and influencing senior level management and key stakeholders.

Skills:

• Requires exposure to multiple, diverse technologies and processing environments.

• Knowledge of all components of holistic enterprise architecture, business re-engineering principles and processes, and basic knowledge of financial models and budgeting.

• Strong organizational and project management skills.

• Strong written and oral communication skills.

• Strong presentation and interpersonal skills.

• Ability to present ideas in user-friendly language.

• Executive presentation and influence.

• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.

• Ability to multitask and prioritize effectively in a fast-paced environment.

• Problem-solving mindset with a focus on continuous improvement.

• Travel required is expected to be up to 5% but may increase over time as the business evolves.

Additional Details

• Salary Range: $125,000-135,000 Base + Bonus (this range is based on Colorado market data and may vary in other locations)

• This position is eligible for company benefits including but not limited to medical, dental, and vision coverage, life and AD&D, short and long-term disability coverage, paid time off, employee assistance, participation in a 401k program that includes company match, and many other additional voluntary benefits.

• Compensation for the role will depend on a number of factors, including your qualifications, skills, competencies, and experience and may fall outside of the range shown.
