We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented TV News ENG (Electronic News Gathering) / SNG (Satellite News Gathering) Coordinator to oversee the logistical and technical coordination of live news broadcasts. This role is responsible for ensuring all ENG/SNG equipment, crew, and transmissions are properly arranged and executed for smooth and uninterrupted coverage of news events.
The ENG/SNG Broadcast Coordinator is responsible for coordinating all field video in newscasts and special reports.
- Tune-in video from various sources and work closely with news crews, producers, and engineers to coordinate live shots for newscasts
- Receive and record video signals from ENG / microwave, satellite, and bonded cellular technologies
- Route and send video to other stations via satellite, bonded cellular, FTP, transfer websites, and network streaming systems
- Coordinate video for requests to and from partner / affiliate stations, including editing said video when needed
- Monitor strength, clarity, and reliability of incoming and outgoing signals to ensure quality broadcasts with consistent and uninterrupted signals
- Organize and assign IFB communications for field crew live shots
- Report equipment problems and ensure repairs are made when necessary
- Review edited video for incorrect content and possible technical issues
- Perform other duties as assigned
Requirements & Skills:
- Technical experience with digital electronics, broadcasting, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and work-related experience
- Fluency in English
- Excellent communication skills, both oral and written
- Minimum one year experience with digital electronics systems in a television broadcasting environment (More or less depending on market size)
- Proficiency with computers, telephones, copiers, scanners, and other office equipment.
- Strong PC/MS Office experience
- Experience with digital transmitters and other broadcast-related equipment
- Ability to meet deadlines, prioritize assignments and handle multiple tasks simultaneously
- Ability to work irregular hours, including weekends and holidays, as news events require
