The Engineering Manager will lead EcoVapor’s Engineering team.
This role is critical in driving the success of our product development, project execution / delivery, and research and development initiatives.Reports To
The Engineering Manager reports to the Vice President of EcoVapor.
The Engineering Manager also works closely with EcoVapor’s Director of Sales, Product Manager, Project Manager, HR and with other parties at EcoVapor and DNOW.

Job Overview
The Engineering Manager is responsible for ensuring product development is ahead of client needs, project scopes and timelines are met, assets are maintained, and that EcoVapor’s Engineering staff work well together in a coordinated, efficient, and proactive approach to ensure promises are kept.
The Engineering Manager at EcoVapor plays a pivotal role in steering the company's engineering functions to align with strategic business goals. The position demands a visionary leader who can bridge the gap between innovative technology development and efficient operational execution. The Manager will be instrumental in overseeing engineering projects and drive product development execution to support the company's growth.
A core responsibility of this role involves leading the engineering team, which encompasses product development, project delivery, and research and development. The Director will cultivate a culture of innovation and continuous improvement, ensuring that the engineering team is equipped to design and deliver high-quality, cutting-edge solutions. By fostering effective collaboration among team members, the Director will optimize resource allocation and ensure that projects are completed on time and within budget. This includes developing strategic initiatives that drive the company's technological advancements and position EcoVapor as a leader in gas purification technologies.
Strategic planning and execution form another critical component of this position. The Engineering Manager will collaborate with senior leadership and the Product Manager to develop long-term plans for technology development and market expansion, including the company's planned expansion into international biogas applications in 2025. By identifying opportunities for process improvements and cost savings across the engineering and operations functions, the Engineering Manager will lead cross-functional teams to achieve strategic objectives and drive the company’s growth. This strategic foresight will ensure that EcoVapor remains at the forefront of the industry, delivering innovative solutions that meet market demands and ensuring that EcoVapor continues to thrive as a leader in sustainable environmental solutions.
Primary Location
The majority of the Director of Engineering and Operations’ work will be performed at EcoVapor’s headquarters in downtown Denver, Colorado. Additionally, regular travel within the USA with some potential international travel should be expected.
Essential Responsibilities and Duties
- Engineering Leadership.
- Oversee and direct the engineering team, including product development, project management, and research and development teams.
- Develop and implement strategic engineering initiatives that align with company goals and objectives.
- Foster innovation and continuous improvement within the engineering department.
- Ensure effective collaboration between engineering teams to optimize product design, development, and delivery.
- Manage the allocation of resources across various engineering projects to meet deadlines and budgets.
- Strategic Planning and Execution.
- Contribute to the strategic planning process, providing insights and recommendations based on engineering and operational perspectives.
- Collaborate with senior leadership to develop long-term plans for technology development and market expansion, including planned international expansion into Canada and Europe for biogas applications.
- Identify opportunities for process improvements and cost savings across engineering and operations functions.
- Lead cross-functional teams to achieve strategic objectives and drive company growth.
- Team Development and Management.
- Build and mentor a high-performing engineering team, fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and excellence.
- Conduct regular performance reviews, providing feedback and development opportunities for team members.
- Recruit and retain top talent to support the company’s growth and innovation goals.
- Stakeholder Engagement.
- Liaise with clients, suppliers, and other stakeholders to ensure alignment and satisfaction with company offerings.
- Represent the company at industry events, conferences, and meetings to promote our technology and capabilities.
- Other activities and responsibilities as required from time to time in support of the Engineering Teams.
Qualifications
Education & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related field; advanced degree preferred.
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in engineering and operations roles, with at least 5 years in a leadership position.
- Proven experience in the oil and gas or biogas industries, with a strong understanding of gas purification technologies.
- Demonstrated success in managing product development, project execution, and research and development initiatives.
- Experience with software-based team task prioritization, progress tracking, resource management, and continuous communication thereof to the team.
- Experience with ERP software including bills of material, engineered controls, part numbering, quote tracking.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to think strategically and execute tactically.
- Strong problem-solving skills and a results-oriented mindset.
- Willingness to travel approximately 10-20% of the time.
- Strong work ethic, willing to do what it takes to get the job done right the first time.

Computer Skills
- Advanced skills in MS Office Suite (Power Point, Excel, Word, Outlook, Teams, and SharePoint)
- 2D drawing / 3D modeling experience and management thereof in ERP software.
