As the Engineering Manager, Storage, you will lead a high-performing team responsible for designing, building, and operating scalable storage systems that underpin our mission-critical business applications. Our storage solutions integrate both relational databases (e.g., AWS RDS, TiDB, MySQL), non-relational (DynamoDB, Redis), and caching architectures to ensure data availability, resilience, and performance at petabyte scale. In this role, you will set the technical vision, drive the roadmap for our storage platform, and collaborate across diverse functions to foster innovation and continuous improvement.
What You’ll Do
- Lead, mentor, and grow a team of senior storage engineers.
- Set clear goals, conduct performance reviews, and create development plans that empower team members to excel.
- Develop and articulate a long-term technical strategy for our storage platform, addressing relational (e.g., AWS RDS, TiDB, MySQL), non-relational (DynamoDB, Redis), and caching storage solutions.
- Prioritize high-impact projects and manage resource allocation while driving agile methodologies to deliver robust, secure, and scalable systems.
- Continuously evaluate emerging technologies and best practices to keep our storage solutions at the cutting edge.
- Ensure the integrity, performance, and security of our storage systems by enforcing rigorous architectural standards and best practices.
- Oversee processes for continuous integration, automated testing, and performance monitoring across the storage infrastructure.
- Work closely with Product teams, infrastructure, and operations teams to ensure technical decisions align with overall business goals.
- Act as a key liaison between technical and non-technical stakeholders, translating complex storage concepts into actionable business strategies.
Who You Are
- You have 7+ years of software engineering experience with a strong background in designing, building, and operating scalable storage systems.
- You possess hands-on expertise with relational databases such as AWS RDS, DynamoDB, TiDB, and MySQL, as well as non-relational, distributed storage technologies.
- You have at least 2+ years of management experience leading technical teams.

Compensation awarded to successful candidates will vary based on their work location, relevant skills, and experience.

For work locations in the San Francisco Bay Area, Seattle, New York City, and Los Angeles, the base salary range for this role is:
$240,000—$320,000 USD
