We are searching for a motivated and ambitious Engineering Manager for the Latam Engineering team. This role will run and manage an engineering pod and help build the Latam engineering team. This role will be hands-on, and strategic and will serve as the key point person for Latam engineering and work with our product and sales teams.
Location: This role is based out of São Paulo, Brazil, and is a full-time position where it is required to come into our office in the Faria Lima area. #LI-Hybrid
Job Responsibilities:
- Lead and mentor a team of engineers, providing guidance, coaching, and support to foster a collaborative and high-performing culture.
- Set clear objectives and goals for the engineering team and ensure alignment with the company's overall strategic objectives.
- Drive the execution of engineering projects from conception to delivery, ensuring quality, timeliness, and adherence to budget.
- Collaborate with Product Managers, Designers, and other stakeholders to define product requirements, technical solutions, and project timelines.
- Champion best practices in software development, including code review processes, testing methodologies, and deployment strategies.
- Identify and mitigate risks, resolve conflicts, and escalate issues as needed to ensure successful project outcomes.
- Foster a culture of continuous improvement, encouraging innovation, experimentation, and learning within the engineering team.
- Stay current with industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in software engineering, and apply knowledge to drive innovation and improve processes.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
- 10+ years of experience in software engineering, with 7 years of experience in a leadership or management role.
- Proven track record of successfully leading and managing engineering teams, delivering complex software projects on time and within budget.
- Strong technical background and hands-on experience in software development, with proficiency in NodeJs, ExpressJs, collaboration tools (e.g. JIRA, Jenkins, Git/Gitlab/Github), SQL database.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to effectively communicate technical concepts and ideas to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze complex issues, identify root causes, and propose effective solutions.
- Experience working in an Agile development environment, with a focus on iterative development, continuous delivery, and collaboration across teams.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic startup environment, with a passion for building innovative products and driving results.
