As "Engineering Manager - Data (all genders)", you are responsible for unleashing the full potential of your employees and supporting them on their growth path. You are responsible for a number of technical disciplines and areas, which you coordinate with the Head Of Engineering and develop together with your employees according to the strategy.
What you’ll do
- Lead data engineering teams dedicated to enhancing the engineering journey, ensuring an efficient and enjoyable experience across our technology stack
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to improve development processes, tools, and frameworks
- Empower and inspire your team to ship high quality data on a regular basis
- Conduct 1:1s, coach and mentor engineers and help them grow
- Fend off distractions and remove roadblocks for your engineers
- Cross-pollinate ideas and plan between teams
- Collaborate with engineering leaders to iterate and improve processes
- Celebrate your team’s achievements inside and outside of the company
- Together with your Head of Engineering, you create an aligned technology strategy by making sure that the team is involved
What you`ll need
- At least 5+ years of data engineering experience
- Lateral leading skills already in former roles or temperate leading positions (at least 2 years) like an architect, technical product owner, technical project lead, lead developer
- Extensive experience with data technologies like Databricks, cloud data platforms, data technologies and data engineering best practices
- Not afraid to get your hands dirty and jump in to code or logfile analysis alongside the team to identify improvement
- Use data to inform others about decisions but trust their gut when necessary
- Communicate clearly, respectfully, and effectively
- Like to work with people to support them on their individual growth path
- Pay attention to team’s technical challenges, but let the team own their solutions
- Agile practices in your way of working
