Job Responsibilities:
Provides technical support for Engineers working in such areas as design, development, testing or manufacturing process improvement. Work pertains to electrical, electronic, or mechanical components or equipment. Position requires some knowledge of Engineering. Perform assignments that are not completely standardized or prescribed.
- Select or adapt standard procedures or equipment. Perform product testing of warranty returns utilizing various test procedures and equipment. • Facilitate problem solving of issues as they are found in the customer's warranty centers.
- Issue, maintain and implement activities relating to corrective and/or preventative action. Provide input on causes or reasons for quality problems and recommend process changes if necessary. Assist in and/or lead customer driven root cause analysis processes (i.e. 5 Phase & 8D).
- Visually inspect customer part returns and determine disposition on any non-conforming product (i.e. Company or customer origin). Gather and summarize data for monthly quality reports.
- Perform and analyze DOE studies
- Troubleshoot/develop/implement solutions to design and production problems
- Act as Liaison between test lab and Project Engineer (test results, timing, etc.)
- Investigate test failures and determine root cause of failures
- Perform vibration studies and analyze dataAssist with prototype builds
- Assist with product development
- Build/Rework Parts (Outside mirrors, exterior door handles, light-bars, etc)
- Perform gauge studies (KPI, capability, etc.)
- Test and measure parts
- Manage / maintain reports of data as directed.
- Perform other duties as necessary.
Requirements:
- High School Diploma
- Currently attending a College or University in the field of Engineering or related discipline (Junior or Senior level status preferred)
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
- Professional communication skills (written and verbal)
- Strong attention to detail
- Effective and efficient time management skills
