About Ameren Illinois

Ameren Illinois provides electric transmission and distribution service and natural gas distribution service. Every day, we deliver electricity to 1.2 million electric and 816,000 natural gas customers in central and southern Illinois. We deliver safe, reliable energy to more than 1,200 communities. 

Key responsibilities include:

  • Provide support, technical expertise and guidance to Illinois reliability stakeholders in all aspects of reliability.  
  • Provide expertise in the area of data analysis, ADMS, system automation, circuit coordination, post disturbance analysis, lightning protection, NESC compliance, etc.
  • Consult collaboratively with all Illinois Reliability stakeholders on projects that will help drive performance excellence across Ameren Illinois Operations.
  • Provide management oversight of turn-key reliability projects for Illinois Operations.
  • Monitor reliability activities and provide regulatory required updates to ICC Staff regarding reliability performance and for associated data requests from the ICC Staff.
  • Support the development, analysis, and reporting of Ameren Illinois electric reliability performance associated with Multi-Year Integrated Grid Plan performance and tracking metrics.
  • Support Distribution Control Operations and Region Operations personnel regarding the performance of the electric distribution and sub-transmission system in Illinois. 
  • Provide analysis and recommendations to maximize the positive impact of Illinois budgetary allocations for reliability-based projects and initiatives.
  • Work as part of a team to develop and implement a long-term plan for overall reliability improvement within Illinois.     
  • Support the Ameren Illinois Emergency Operations Center during significant events.          

Qualifications

Bachelor of Science Degree in Engineering from an accredited college or university required. Bachelor of Science Degree in Electrical Engineering preferred. Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) certification or P.E. (Professional Engineer) registration preferred.  Electric distribution related engineering experience preferred.

In addition to the above qualifications, the successful candidate will demonstrate:

Working knowledge of personal computer applications (Word, Excel, Outlook, Visio). Working knowledge of corporate computer applications (OAS, CSS, Maximo, ADMS) and Power BI.  Good organization, decision-making, communication, and human relations skills. Must have ability to function well in a collaborative, team-building environment. Must be able to work under limited supervision.  Ability to think strategically.

Additional Information

Ameren’s selection process includes a series of interviews and may include a leadership assessment process.  Specific details will be provided to qualified candidates.

Compensation Range:

$69,300.00 - $168,000.00

* This pay range encompasses multiple levels of the role. Career level and compensation depends upon applicant's credentials.

At Ameren, base salary is one component of a competitive compensation package for employees. Our pay ranges are broad to allow for movement within our organization and to accommodate different skill sets and levels of expertise. We take into consideration a variety of factors including, but not limited to, skills, abilities, experience, education, credentials, and internal equity when determining the base salary offered. Roles are eligible for additional rewards including annual incentive payments based on individual and company performance.
