Responsible for maintaining and improving existing injection molds used in production, focusing on troubleshooting manufacturing issues, implementing design modifications to optimize quality and efficiency. Able to provide fast disposition on problematic lots (LOH) and drive for rootcause analysis and corrective actions. Proficient in collaborating with cross-functional teams to address production issues, ensuring the continued functionality and performance of products throughout their lifecycle.
What you will do:

Mold troubleshooting:
Identifying and solving mold-related issues like defects (disturbed wire, package offset, excess gate/flash, package crack, etc.), wear and tear, and process variability, often requiring hands-on analysis and corrective actions. If necessary, able to apply minor design modifications to existing molds to address identified issues or optimize production processes.

Process improvement:
Collaborating with maintenance team to optimize molding parameters and process settings to enhance part consistency and minimize scrap rates.

Quality control:
Analyzing production data to identify quality trends, implement corrective actions, and ensure adherence to required specifications. Using statistical tools to determine root causes and track the effectiveness of actions.

Documentation and reporting:
Maintaining detailed records of mold modifications, maintenance activities, and production issues for analysis and future reference.
What you will need:

Experienced in both mold process and equipment engineering roles.

Strong understanding of injection molding principles and process parameters preferably on reel-to-reel production mode.

Experienced with mold flow analysis and design for manufacturability (DFM).

Experienced on materials science and plastic properties.

Mechanical engineering background especially in tooling design and manufacturing.

Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.

Able to work effectively in a cross-functional team environment.
