What you’ll do
Become part of an iconic brand that is set to revolutionize the electric pick-up truck & rugged SUV marketplace by achieving the following:
- Be a part of the vision of engineering excellence and a source of knowledge.
- Create risk assessment and hazard analysis
- Critically review risk analysis and develop safety concepts and plans
- Work with the e-drive and chassis tuning team to execute safety concepts and plans
- Coordinate and contribute to the prototype and serial development stage in terms of technical evaluations, data collection, data analysis and technical report creation to ensure releases
- Partner with other concept & systems architect teams to come up with solution to engineering & functional challenges
- Review or create safety analysis from internal or external teams like FMEA, FTA, and FMEDA
- Attend safety validation testing with different road tests and inspection
- Support safety validation testing and post-test analysis at both a component and vehicle level
- Hands on prototyping and building capability, from initial operation to coordinating and implementing software
- Be involved in other related tasks/activities as required
Location & Travel Expectations: The responsibilities of this role require attendance at in-person meetings and events regularly. This role will be based out of the Scout Motors location in Novi, MI. Applicants should expect that the role will require the ability to convene with Scout colleagues in person and travel to participate in events on behalf of the company from time to time.
What you’ll bring

- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Engineering, Technology, IT systems, or Engineering Technology (preferably in electrical engineering)
- 5+ years of experience in concept engineering or serial development
- Practical experience in functional safety concepts, failure modes and effects analysis, risk analysis and hazard assessment
- Strong understanding of functional safety standards, such as ISO 26262
- Proven ability to create and execute safety plans and concepts
- Advanced project steering and coordination skills
- Desire to work at the cutting edge of electric vehicle technical design
- Strong interpersonal skills including ownership, self-motivated, problem solving, analytical, innovative, creative, communication skills and ability to develop & mutually thrive in working relationships
- Proven ability to work in a truly cross-functional and global environment

Pay Transparency
This is a full-time, exempt position eligible to receive a base salary and to participate in an annual performance bonus program. Final salary offered will be determined based on factors including but not limited to the candidate's skills and experience. The annual performance bonus program is preset and not candidate dependent.
Initial base salary range = $120,000-$135,000
Internal leveling code: IC9
