Heidrick Consulting Brazil

You would be part of our Consulting Practice in Brazil. At Heidrick Consulting, we work with Senior Leadership, Executive Teams, and Boards, covering major national and multi-national companies across all industry sectors in Brazil and Latin America. 

You will be joining a growing, dynamic team, and in this role as an Engagement Leader, you will expand and deepen your consulting skills by leading various projects as well as managing junior team members. Your contributions will expose you to senior leaders across a variety of industries and geographies.

Role Responsibilities

The main responsibility of the Engagement Leader is to lead and manage client projects across our portfolio of solutions, including Leadership and Executive Team Development, Board Effectiveness and, Organization and Culture Transformation.

Engagement Leaders are responsible for developing and leading consulting solutions as part of client engagements, acting as project leaders on specific projects, supporting Principals and Partners with client management and supporting business development activities. The person will be highly exposed to business strategies, organizational and leadership challenges. Our solutions involve a variety of proprietary assessment and development tools.

In the course of a typical project, you will lead, manage and own problem-solving efforts on a large portion of the projects and act as the client lead on smaller projects. Specifically, you will be responsible for identifying issues, forming hypotheses, designing and delivering solutions and synthesizing conclusions into recommendations. You will be involved in discussions and presentations with senior client leadership throughout an engagement.

You will report to the Lead Partner of Consulting in Brazil and work closely with all team members.

Main responsibilities of an Engagement Leader include:

  • Ability to deliver client engagements end-to-end, supporting Principals and Partners.
  • Leading the preparation of project plans and team mobilization.
  • Managing the day to day execution of projects within the agreed scope and timeline, ensuring project plans are current and on track as contracted.
  • Actively challenging self and team to deliver highest quality, innovative client solutions.
  • Developing trusted relationships and client first mindset with key client stakeholders.
  • Flexibly delivering client work, adapting existing models and processes to client needs.
  • Coaching, mentoring and onboarding junior team members.
  • Contributing to creating new business proposals, supporting the end-to-end business development cycle.
  • Contributing to enhancements to current offerings and/or develop innovative approaches to client work.
  • Developing new and existing relationships across H&S (consulting,  executive search, on-demand talent and digital)
  • Contributing to firm level initiatives (e.g. training, recruitment, knowledge, etc.)
  • Actively developing self with a learning mindset and supporting a broad range of consulting activities

Minimum Role Qualifications 

  • 5+ years of work experience in a business environment with 3 years in a management or leadership consulting environment with regular exposure to and engagement with clients.
  • An undergraduate degree is required.
  • Experience working directly with clients in a professional service, team-based environment.
  • Ability to lead a team, manage workload and priorities within a broader team project setting.
  • Ability to manage time effectively, being comfortable with handling multiple priorities and being able to adapt to changing business needs.
  • Demonstrated expertise in one or more domain (leadership assessment & development, team & board advisory, organizational culture change or transformation, and purpose)
  • Demonstrated advanced proficiency in PowerPoint, Excel and Word; easily able to adopt new technologies and software.
  • Excellent communication skills; writing skills with a proven track record of success preparing concise and compelling reports and other client ready deliverables.
  • Ability to communicate, both verbally and in writing, in English and Portuguese. Other languages are a plus.
  • Willingness to travel locally and globally as required.
