In this position, you support the eMobility Group with expertise to managing all sales activities between DTNA and all electric truck customers, many of them being part of DTNA’s top customers. This includes responsibilities as an engineer, and as a trusted consultant to our valued customers and dealerships. Electric trucks are an emerging, exciting technology, and the right person will drive DTNA's success by helping our engineering department, customers and network adopt the new vehicles into their operations.
This position provides opportunity and responsibilities to learn and teach in a global vehicle-charging team which includes experts in Germany, Japan, the US, and other locations.
Travel will be required to customer sites in the US on a regular basis as well as for occasional meetings overseas as part of the collaboration with members of the global team.
In the ever-evolving world of electric vehicles, you will also need to improve DTNA's competitive market position by keeping up to date with state-of-the-art ZEV (zero emission vehicle) technologies and relevant industry standards as well as developments in the energy industry. It will be critical also to study eMobility topics outside your immediate responsibilities. This broad knowledge is critical for your interactions with customers, as you will be seen by many as an expert not only for ZEV, but an expert representative for the vehicle and e-mobility movement overall. Position offers a starting salary range of $98,500.00 - $126,000.00 USD 

Pay offered dependent on knowledge, skills, and experience​

What You Drive at DTNA

In this position, you will manage the electric vehicle, infrastructure consulting, and eMobility training activities between DTNA’s dealerships and field-based sales teams.  Working with these stakeholders, you will engage with our top eMobility customers, many of them DTNA’s top fleet customers. This includes responsibilities as a trusted consultant, helping to build a compelling business case for the adoption of this exciting vehicle propulsion technology.  The right person will drive DTNA's success by helping our Zero Emission Transformation Group (ZTG) effectively represent the voice of our fleet customers and dealer network as they integrate this new propulsion platform into their operations.

  • Work within the Zero Emission Transformation Group to develop a comprehensive consulting approach to support North American fleets interested in the adoption of Battery Electric Vehicles (BEV) and electric vehicle supply equipment (charging infrastructure). Maintain close collaboration with DTNA’s sales team, including dealer and national account customers, and function as their technical backbone for ZTG.  Collaborate with them to create tailored eMobility solutions for each fleet customer.
  • Demonstrate the value proposition of DTNA’s BEVs in all aspects of the customer’s business by researching, compiling, analyzing, preparing, and recommending deployment strategies of BEVs utilizing the latest TCO models, route analytic tools, and available federal, state, or local incentives.
  • Become an expert in electric truck use cases to advise customers on suitable application for their duty cycle. Provide responsive assistance to these customers as technical questions arise.
  • Collaborate with the charging infrastructure consultants on the team to help fleet customers install and maintain a robust vehicle charging infrastructure that meets or exceeds the customer’s needs, on time, and on budget including incentives.
  • In the ever-evolving world of electric vehicles, you will also need to improve DTNA's competitive market position by keeping up to date with state-of-the-art BEV technologies and relevant industry standards as well as developments in the energy industry.
  • It will also be critical to know broader eMobility topics outside your immediate responsibilities. Having a broad knowledge of the eMobility landscape is critical for your interactions with customers, as you will be seen by many as an expert not only for BEVs, but an expert representative for all Zero Emission Vehicle (ZEV) propulsion technologies and ancillary systems.
  • This position provides opportunity and responsibilities to learn and teach as part of a global vehicle-charging team which includes experts in North America and in Europe
  • Travel will be required to customer sites and trade shows in the US on a regular basis as well as for occasional meetings overseas as part of the collaboration with members of the global team.

  • Facilitate cross-departmental collaborations with Engineering, Product Strategy, Segment Strategy, Sales, Marketing, Aftermarket Parts, and Aftermarket Service teams as needed to meet the customer’s needs.
  • Assist in arranging special events between assigned accounts and DTNA.
  • Working closely with the product strategy team on their development plans for future ZEV offerings and ensure these next generation products are developed to meet customer expectations and needs.
  • Seamless collaboration with external incentive partners to provide a complete and holistic business proposal to customer

Knowledge You Should Bring

  • Bachelor's degree in Business or Engineering from an accredited college and 5-7 years of relevant experience required
  • 4+ years experience in sales or customer relationship management required
  • 2+ years of group lead, project lead, or mentoring experience required.
  • Excellent management and leadership skills required.
  • Strong knowledge of EV related products and services required.
  • Experience working in automotive, heavy duty truck, or electrification industry required.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and, oral and written communication skills required.
  • Verbal and written communication skills required.
  • Moderate travel (~25%), especially initially required.
  • Detail oriented, reliable, and self-motivated required.
  • Ability to work in an environment of ambiguity and ongoing change required.
  • Languages: English (fluent) required.

Exceptional Candidates Might Have

  • Degree focus Automotive or Sustainability preferred
  • Strong technical proficiency with DTNA products with a focus on electrical preferred.
  • Must be well-organized, able to handle multiple, detailed tasks, and work professionally with various levels of DTNA management preferred.
  • Proven ability to translate business needs into technical requirements preferred.
  • Experience working in various Daimler Trucks organizations preferred.
  • Enthusiastic about being at the forefront of customer value driven Zero Emission Transformation Group preferred.
  • Languages:  German (Intermediate) preferred; additional language(s) preferred.
