Position Overview
The EMEA Corporate Assistant Controller & Functional Support role at HDE is a multi-faceted role. You will play a crucial role in managing budgets, driving cost control initiatives and also ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting for group and statutory purposes. This position requires a blend of analytical skills, financial (reporting) expertise, and strong communication abilities. From local (i.e. HDE) departments, FP&A and Zone Control - you will be working closely with various functions to ensure efficient and effective (cost) reporting and control within our organisation.
What you'll do
Budgeting and forecasting
- Support EMEA FP&A on periodic budget and forecasting procedures
- Lead the budgeting process, ensuring alignment with organizational goals
- Prepare and update financial forecasts
- Monitor budget adherence and report on any deviations
Cost Control and Monitoring
- Manage budget for various (central) cost centers and/or projects
- Coordinate cost allocation across various cost centers and within and beyond our Zone
- Develop and implement cost control policies and procedures
- Lead cost control and reporting initiatives identify opportunities for improvements, standardization and best practice implementation
Financial Reporting and Analysis
- Prepare comprehensive monthly cost reports
- Present cost / financial performance reports to senior management and/or functional leadership
- Prepare variance analysis and investigate and explain significant variances
- Recommend corrective actions to address any cost overruns or inefficiencies.
- Ensure accurate and timely reporting of financial information
Financial close procedures
- Lead and manage the RTR team during the period-end close process, including financial close process in local ERP (SAP) and group reporting in Oracle EPM
- Partner with Zone Control team to ensure a smooth month-end close process
- Ensure accurate and timely preparation of financial statements in compliance with HD Group Accounting policies
Internal controls and compliance
- Ensure adherence to financial policies and procedures
- Participate / assist in internal / external audits
Team
- Work closely with GBS teams to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting
- Foster a collaborative and high-performance work environment
- Provide training and development opportunities to enhance team capabilities
Who you are
Qualifications / Skills
- Excellent analytical skills
- Advanced Excel skills and knowledge of data analytics software
- Strong knowledge of and experience with SAP, Power BI
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Excellent communication and presentation skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Excellent command of English (speech and writing)
- Ability to speak Dutch is desirable
