Position Overview:
Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS) seeks a senior level Embedded Firmware/Software Integration Engineer with experience in embedded systems requirements and architecture development, software and firmware testing, and developing software requirements plans for a new program in Albuquerque, NM.
The new program is responsible for designing and testing advanced concepts for the US Government. This position will be be responsible for requirements definition, integration and test, V&V of requirements, throughout the product lifecycle. This position may serve as an IPT lead for all aspects of firmware/software development and test will serve as a SME/team lead for a team of multi-disciplined engineers supporting hardware/software/embedded systems design, integration and test.
Primary Responsibilities:

Support firmware and software development projects.

Work in a team environment to develop specifications of firmware and software architectures.

Design and validate implementation of all embedded components.

Integrate and synthesize firmware and software for the target platform.

Develop and maintain software code. Integrate software into a fully functional software system.

Troubleshoot basic firmware and software issues.
-
Develop verification and validation plans to ensure embedded system requirements are met.
This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at Albuquerque, NM.
This position requires an active U.S. Top Secret Security Clearance (US Citizenship Required). (A U.S. Security Clearance that has been active in the past 24 months is considered active.)
Basic Qualifications (Required Skills and Experience):

Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited course of study in engineering, engineering technology (includes manufacturing engineering technology), chemistry, physics, mathematics, data science, or computer science.

5+ years of experience programming in C, C++, or C#.
-
Experience with product management and software development methodology
-
Working knowledge and/or experience in software architecture and software development
Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

5+ years of experience working with FPGA embedded systems
-
Experience with FPGA processor or memory interconnects.
-
Experience in embedded software development.
-
Hardware integration and software Integration experience.
-
Experience using programming languages (VHDL, C++, Java, MATLAB).

Experience developing code for sensor acquisition and sensor processing.
-
Experience with electro-optical systems (EO systems, electro optics).

Prior experience in Project Management

Experience with Earned Value Management
Typical Education & Experience:
Lead (level 5): Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 14 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. PhD+9 years' related work experience, Master+12 years' related work experience). In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.
Principal (level 6): Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 20 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. PhD+15 years' related work experience, Master+18 years' related work experience). In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.

Summary pay range:
Lead (level 5): $143,650 – 194,350
Principal (level 6): $170,000 – $230,000
