Zendesk is seeking a talented and dedicated Email Developer to craft visually appealing, modern, and engaging email campaigns that captivate our audience while maintaining brand consistency. You will play a key role in elevating the email experience through innovative designs, responsive templates, and a commitment to accessibility standards. What you’ll be doingTemplate Creation & Maintenance

Design and develop responsive email templates optimized for various devices, ensuring seamless functionality across email clients like Outlook, Gmail, and others.

Maintain and update Zendesk’s library of email templates to align with evolving brand standards and marketing needs.
Visual Storytelling & Design

Collaborate with Lifecycle and Email Marketing teams to create visually compelling campaigns that effectively align with messaging goals.

Incorporate eye-catching visuals, animations (e.g., GIFs), and brand elements to enhance user engagement and drive results.
Brand Alignment

Ensure all email designs adhere to Zendesk’s brand guidelines, maintaining a consistent look and feel across campaigns.

Act as a brand steward by educating team members on best practices for visual design in email.
Accessibility Standards

Design emails with accessibility in mind, ensuring readability for audiences with visual impairments by using techniques like proper color contrast and alt text for images.

Stay informed about email accessibility guidelines and implement enhancements as needed.
Localization Support

Partner with Localization and QA Specialists to adapt creative assets for different regions and languages, ensuring designs resonate with global audiences.

Adjust templates and layouts to accommodate character lengths and cultural nuances for localized content.
Testing & Optimization

Collaborate with the Testing & Experimentation Lead to run A/B tests on design elements like CTA buttons, hero images, and layouts.

Analyze performance data related to design elements (e.g., click-through rates) and iterate based on results to continuously improve engagement.
Collaboration & Workflow Management

Work closely with the Content Strategist and Email Marketing Managers to align designs with campaign messaging.

Streamline the feedback process by efficiently integrating input from stakeholders.
Emerging Trends & Tools

Stay ahead of email design trends and explore emerging tools, such as AMP for Email and interactive email designs.

Experiment with innovative approaches to ensure Zendesk emails stand out in competitive inboxes.
What you bring to the role

Proficiency in design tools like Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator), Figma, or Canva.

Experience with email-specific tools such as Litmus or Email on Acid for design testing.

Knowledge of HTML/CSS for email design and troubleshooting layout issues.

Familiarity with email marketing platforms like Marketo and design collaboration tools (e.g., Slack, Asana).
Qualifications:

Strong portfolio showcasing responsive email designs with a focus on user engagement and brand consistency.

Demonstrated experience designing emails with accessibility standards in mind.

Proven ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.

Enthusiasm for learning and experimenting with new tools and trends in email design.
Please note that anyone hired into this position must be physically located in and plan to work from Mexico City (CDMX) or Mexico State (Estado de Mexico).
Hybrid: In this role, our hybrid experience is designed at the team level to give you a rich onsite experience packed with connection, collaboration, learning, and celebration - while also giving you flexibility to work remotely for part of the week. This role must attend our local office for part of the week. The specific in-office schedule is to be determined by the hiring manager.
