The EHS Supervisor will report directly to the Site Director, the Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) Supervisor is responsible for ensuring workplace compliance with environmental, health, and safety regulations, policies, and procedures. Their role is crucial in minimizing risks, preventing accidents, and promoting a safe and sustainable work environment. This role is based out of Rensselaer, IN and would require this individual to be on site regularly.

Role Responsibilities:

  • Ensure company adherence to OSHA, ISO14001, and other local, state, and federal safety regulations.

  • Able to lead/coordinate with site Quality Manager on ISO14001 ongoing registration.

  • Conduct internal audits and inspections to identify non-compliance issues and implement corrective actions.

  • Develop and implement EHS training programs for employees:

  • Identify potential hazards and assess risks in the workplace.

  • Investigate workplace accidents, near misses, and environmental incidents, documenting findings and recommending preventive measures.

  • Develop and implement emergency response plans.

  • Conduct safety drills and train employees on emergency procedures.

  • Ensure proper handling, storage, and disposal of hazardous materials.

  • Monitor and report environmental regulations.

  • Ensure employees have access to and properly use Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).

  • Implement safety and environmental improvement initiatives.

  • Stay updated on EHS trends and best practices.

  • Other job duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental Science, or a related field (preferred).

  • 3+ years of experience in EHS or safety management.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of OSHA and other relevant regulations.

  • Experience in an ISO14001, ISO18001, and ISO45001 environment.

  • Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.

  • Certification such as OSHA 30/40, CSP (Certified Safety Professional) is a plus.
