The EHS Management Systems Lead will facilitate the development, implementation, and sustainability of the Mosaic Management System (MMS) at Mosaic's Potash sites. This role involves collaborating across the organization to establish consistent MMS policies, procedures, programs, and systems for effective implementation. The Lead will enhance EHS risk identification and controls by utilizing the Plan, Do, Check, Act (PDCA) methodology to drive continuous EHS improvement. The ultimate goal is to make Mosaic a safer place each day and promote environmental sustainability.

What will you do?

Leadership:

  • Spearhead the development, implementation, and ongoing sustainability of the organization's Management System. This includes the creation and refinement of supporting procedures, work instructions, and systems.

  • Support the definition and implementation of strategic initiatives of the Mosaic Management System, aiming to continuously enhance safety and environmental standards through its effective application.

Project Management:

  • Oversee the allocation of resources, timelines, and scope for the implementation and sustainability of the Management System and associated programs.

  • Monitor and communicate the status of assessments, readiness, and action items.

  • Lead the integration of Management System improvements into business operations following assessments.

  • Collaborate with peers at other sites to share best practices and ensure consistent application of Management System tools.

Oversight:

  • Partner with Operations to identify and implement controls for safety and environmental risks.

  • Coordinate internal assessments and third-party audits of the management system.

  • Manage and track action items identified during assessments and audits.

Champion:

  • Advocate for the business value of the Management System within the organization through effective communication, influence, and coaching.

Management of Change:

  • Support Management of Change (MOC) program across potash sites, supporting the sites to comply with MOC element requirements.

What Do You Need for This Role?

  • A bachelor’s degree in engineering, Science, or Business is required.

  • A minimum of 6 years of related experience in an industrial environment, or an equivalent of 10+ years in a technical or operations role, with a comprehensive understanding of mining operations and Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) policies and procedures.

  • Experience in conducting EHS Risk Assessments and implementing controls based on the Hierarchy of Controls to mitigate and manage risks.

  • Knowledge of and experience as a lead auditor for ISO 14001, ISO 45001, or OHSAS 18001 is advantageous.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel, Word, Maximo, AON, and Omega.

  • Demonstrated ability to lead change, influence senior management, and effectively coach others.

  • Strong project management skills.

  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.

  • Ability to foster cooperation and collaboration among various functional work groups.

  • Capability to effectively communicate with all organizational levels and external parties.

  • Ability to lead groups towards consensus.

  • Strong business acumen.

  • Serve as the subject matter expert for process Management of Change (MOC) and provide leadership to MOC Leads.

  • Experience participating in Mosaic’s internal EHSS Assurance Program as an auditor or assessor is preferred.

  • MOC experience is a plus.
