In this role:
We are looking for Environmental, Health and Safety Intern to join our team. This role will allow a successful candidate to support a high performing team, to learn EHS practices, gain exposure and experience of working in the Manufacturing Industry.
Main responsibilities:
- Adhere to KCSA EHS policies, procedures, mission, and values statements.
- Assist in training, EHS and in-servicing of staff.
- Develop and manage EHS programs, procedures and work instructions.
- Report any safety risks identified EHS Manager.
- Support in tracking and monitoring of waste management.
- Create, maintain, and oversee the compliance calendar for all regulatory requirements.
- Serve as a role model for safe personal practices.
- Maintain records and logs and prepare periodic reports for review.
- Coordination and scheduling of monthly SHE Committee Meetings, capturing and distribution of meeting minutes
- Support development of job hazard analysis and risk assessments.
- Observe safety and security procedures. Use equipment and materials properly.
- Conduct Internal Audit and flag any risks non-conformances or non-compliance
- Manage sub – contractors and ensure contractors pack maintained
- Conduct regular audits, inspections, reflect findings in risk assessments and ensure hazards are rectified.
- Ensure that employees are well equipped and resourced (PPE and SHE equipment)
- Arrange and Organize EHS campaigns (Venue/Transport/Catering)
- Coordinate SHEQ Meeting, ensure record keeping and update SHE system (load and monitor close off of actions on SHE Committee tracker)
- Coordination of EHS Training Sessions (Venue/Attendance/Catering)
- Coordination and supporting of accident and Incident investigations.
- Compile reports and monitor implementation of actions

- Bachelor’s degree/B-Tech in Environmental Science, Safety Management, Mechanical Engineering
- Academic results above 70% in their final year whilst maintaining a 60% -65% average or over during the duration of their studies
- Great attention to detail

- Willingness to learn and results-oriented
- Strong administration skills
- Ability to work independently and within a team
