Works to support the creation of various analytics and .NET applications through the use of databases (for example, MS SQL and/or Teradata). Develops, maintains and enhances databases and applications for internal purposes and customer reporting. Is able to work on multiple projects while supporting areas of subject matter expertise.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Works in a team of database developers, software developers, and business analysts. Delivers database analytics and web based applications.
  • Administers existing databases and the analysis, design, and creation of new databases.
  • Performs data modeling, database optimization, understanding and implementation of schemas, and the ability to interpret and write complex code.
  • Proactively monitors systems for optimum performance and capacity constraints.
  • Designs, implements and supports ETL processes.
  • Establishes database development standards, documentation and best practices.
  • Handles multiple projects while supporting existing production databases and processes.
  • Performs support, development and administrative activities as required. Provides periodic on-call duty to support department 7x24x365 applications.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering or related field required.
  • Master’s degree preferred.
  • Additional database development experience may offset the degree requirement.

Certifications:

  • Microsoft Certified Solutions Associate (MCSA) from Microsoft preferred.
  • Teradata Database Certified Associate (TDCA) from Teradata Certified Professional Program (TCPP) preferred.

Complexity of Work:

  • A solid understanding of database and .NET computing environment concepts.
  • Excellent knowledge of current technologies and project management skills.
  • Diverse technology background required along with strong verbal and written communication skills.

Work Experience:

  • Three years database development (e.g., MS SQL and/or Teradata) or C# and/or ASP.net experience required.
  • Programming experience with an emphasis on coding that scales well and is optimized for use in a high volume environment preferred.
  • Experience in the physical and logical design of database architecture preferred.
  • Experience in Informatica Power Center a plus.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to communicate and exchange accurate information. 
  • Ability to perform work in a stationary position for extended periods.
  • Ability to work with physical records or operate a computer or other office equipment.
  • In some locations, ability to travel throughout the hospital system.
  • In some locations ability to move up to 25 lbs.
