THE MISSION

As Sales Leader, you will be a critical part of the Sales team as you contribute to the expansion of Scalapay in the Italian market. 

You will: 

  • Be responsible for driving revenue growth from new business and achieving our ambitious sales targets in the Italian market
  • Develop a localised playbook focusing on Enterprise Sales to win more merchants in target categories
  • Implement an effective sales forecasting and reporting system that ensures accurate and timely insights into the sales pipeline,
  • Build, manage, and mentor a high-performing sales team of sales professionals
  • Focus on building out the enterprise sales function
  • Hire, manage & develop an exceptional team, you will need to recruit & build the right team for the job. You will make the Scalapay sales team the most sought after place to work in Europe. 

WHO WE'RE LOOKING FOR

Must have

  • Be an exceptional sales leader. This means having achieved exceptional results in your sales career. Exceptional means the type of results that are beyond the reach of 90% of sales leaders.
  • Strong track record of achieving and exceeding sales targets
  • A minimum of 5y of experience in B2B Sales in a senior role for an international company
  • You’ve already managed a team: this means performance management, hiring, firing, coaching and training
  • Fluent English, this is senior role so you’ll be interacting in English every day with people inside and outside of Scalapay 

Nice to have 

  • You’ve previously worked in a startup/scaleup environment 
  • Ecommerce experience
  • You speak MEDDIC, Challenger2

  • Strong leadership and management skills, managing the team means setting the bar high on performance whilst ensuring people stay engaged 
  • Data-driven and organised, you like things to run like an engine
  • You have excellent communication skills (verbal and written): you are able to break down complex topics into simple solutions and ideas
  • You’re a self-starter, autonomous & proactive: we’re looking for someone who will go and get things done, not wait for instructions

RECRUITMENT PROCESS

  1. Initial Chat: A brief conversation with our Talent Acquisition team to get to know you and understand your fit for the role.
  2. Hiring Manager Interview: First interview with the VP of Strategic growth, to deep dive into your experiences, better understand your motivation and explore your skills.
  3. Case Study: A skills-based exercise followed by a debriefing session with key stakeholders, conducted in our Milan office.
  4. Final Chat with Simone (CEO): A chance to discuss Scalapay’s values, company vision, and ensure strong cultural alignment. During this stage, we will also conduct reference checks to validate your experience and achievements.

Scalapay is an innovative payment method which allows a customer to defer payments through 3 or 4 interest-free installments. The buy now pay later service is available in over 7.000 physical stores and in the e-stores of more than 5.000 brands. The cost of the service is totally free for the customer and is financed by a commission applied to retailers who are immediately paid for their product. Scalapays’ service has seen a 48% increase in the average order value, an increase in cart conversion, and a decrease in its abandonment rate.
