Job Description:
Rise Modular is seeking an experienced and highly motivated Drafting Team Manager to oversee the drafting and design team at our modular manufacturing facility in Owatonna, MN. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in leadership and team management skills. The Drafting Team Manager will lead a group of drafters and design professionals to create accurate and efficient modular building designs that align with our production goals and client specifications. This role will also require close collaboration with other departments to ensure smooth workflow and timely project completion.
Responsibilities:

1. Team Leadership and Development
   
   1. Lead, mentor, and manage a team of drafting professionals, ensuring high performance, clear communication, and continuous improvement.
   2. Provide coaching, training, and development opportunities to help team members grow professionally.
   3. Manage performance of the drafting team through semi-annual reviews and regular meetings, including disciplinary discussions, as needed.
2. Drafting and Design Oversight
   
   1. Review, approve, and revise drafts as necessary to ensure consistency with project requirements.
   2. Ensure all designs, drafts, and blueprints are accurate, high-quality, and in compliance with industry standards, regulations, and company guidelines.
3. Project Management and Coordination
   
   1. Oversee the drafting team's work schedule and project timelines, ensuring all projects are completed on time and within scope.
   2. Work closely with production and business development teams to address technical and design challenges.
4. Process Improvement/Quality Control
   
   1. Identify and implement process improvements for drafting practices, enhancing workflow efficiency, design accuracy, and communication between departments.
   2. Enforce best practices in quality control and ensure the team follows established guidelines for drafting standards, documentation, and revisions.
5. Collaboration and Communication
   
   1. Act as the key point of contact between the drafting team and other internal departments.
   2. Ensure effective communication to resolve any design issues that may affect the manufacturing process or client expectations.
6. Technology Management
   
   1. Maintain proficiency in industry-standard drafting software (Procore or similar), ensuring the team stays updated with the latest tools and techniques.
7. Other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

• 5+ years of transferable experience in construction or manufacturing environments.
• 5+ years of experience leading teams in a performance tracking environment.

Skills & Abilities:

• Strong leadership and team management skills with the ability to motivate and develop a team.
• Excellent communication skills to collaborate effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
• Proficient in Procore or other relevant design software.
• Strong understanding of modular construction, building codes, and industry standards.
• Exceptional problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and prioritize tasks effectively.
• Proactive, results-driven, and goal-oriented.
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to work under tight deadlines.
• Flexible and adaptable to changing project requirements.
• Willingness to engage in manufacturing process and develop best practices for team engagement.
