GEICO is seeking an experienced FP&A Solution Architect to provide expertise and guidance in supporting the FP&A departments. This individual must have strong functional and technical Finance Systems background to partner with the Business to have effective discussions to drive process and systems change to meet Business goals.
The DE must have the ability to provide leadership and coaching to business teams and technologists by guiding, planning, and partnering at various levels. The DE will partner with the engineering teams in the establishment and implementation of new or revised systems and programs.
The FP&A Solution Architect is required to have extensive Financial Systems expertise and a broad background in ERP and Management Reporting technologies. The position will report to the Senior Director of Finance Technologies. The individual contributor is expected to provide systems solutions, functional process recommendations, and work with multiple Finance and Technology leaders to set the systems strategy for the company’s Finance Planning and Management Reporting applications.
The individual will be a key advisor and partner to the Finance Leadership to redesign the way they use their technologies in managing GEICO’s business. The FP&A Specialist is also accountable to support the delivery of technology solutions that will support profitability, budgeting, planning, analytical reporting, and other FP&A functions.
Prior Financial Services Industry experience is required, with a deep understanding of the functional and technical aspects of multiple ERP and EPM systems.
Position DescriptionThis DE FP&A Solutions Architect works across the organization to provide a friction-less experience to our customers and maintain the highest standards of protection and availability. The ideal candidate has deep Finance Systems experience across multiple companies to introduce best practices leveraging their broad and deep knowledge of various ERPs (e.g. PeopleSoft; Oracle EBS; Oracle Cloud; Hyperion; Workday; or SAP).Position Responsibilities
As the FP&A Solutions Architect supporting these Finance functions you will:
- Leverage your deep Functional and Technical systems expertise to drive towards the right solution to support the department and GEICO’s current and future needs
- Engage in cross-functional collaboration throughout the entire software lifecycle
- Lead design sessions with peers to ensure systems are well designed, efficient, and meet Business expectations
- Collaborate with the Finance Leaders for the Management Reporting, Budgeting and Planning, Cost Management, Profitability and Business Line Management reporting, and Technology Cost Management departments to ensure their organizational technology goals are met
- Have a deep understanding of these multi-entity department functions to establish a vision and technology roadmap for Management Reporting, Budgeting and Planning, Hierarchy and Financial data governance, Profitability and Business Line Management
- Work with Business Sponsors to develop project roadmaps which align to business objectives and sequenced by priority and resource availability
- Manage through influence customers and stakeholders, and properly manage divergent expectations
- Ensure a strong control and governance framework is established and maintained to support SOX and Audit reviews
- Facilitate Business and Technology discussions at various leadership levels to ensure alignment towards long term goals of Finance and Technology
- Analyze and translate business and functional specifications and change requests into technical specifications
- Consistently share best practices and improve processes within and across teams.
Qualifications
- 25+ years of Finance Systems experience with industry leading ERP solutions (e.g. implementing and supporting PeopleSoft; Oracle EBS; Oracle Cloud; Hyperion; Workday; or SAP)
- 15+ years of management or lead experience in guiding teams in support of Finance Systems
- 5+ years managing FP&A or other Finance systems teams managing some of the following system types: Enterprise Profitability Management; Budgeting & Planning system; an Enterprise Hierarchy Management system; a Unit Cost Management system; or various Analytical Reporting tools
- 5+ years working with an Enterprise Profitability Management system (e.g. OFSAA; PS EPM; Apptio; etc)
- Deep Finance domain expertise to be able to work with senior Finance leaders to interpret their process and functional needs into system solutions
- Strong understanding of Accounting process and Management reporting philosophies to partner with senior Finance Leaders
- Ability to communicate and work directly with business leaders across Technology and Finance
- Solid understanding of project management techniques, methodologies, and best practices.
- Strong problem-solving abilities
- Ability to excel in a fast-paced environment
- Knowledge and experience with the software development life cycle
- Ability to work independently and in a team-oriented collaborative environment
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, Business Administration, or equivalent education or work experience
Annual Salary
$150,000.00 - $300,000.00
The above annual salary range is a general guideline. Multiple factors are taken into consideration to arrive at the final hourly rate/ annual salary to be offered to the selected candidate. Factors include, but are not limited to, the scope and responsibilities of the role, the selected candidate’s work experience, education and training, the work location as well as market and business considerations.
