Zocdoc’s mission is to give power to the patient. To do that, we’ve built the leading healthcare marketplace that makes it easy to find and book in-person or virtual care in all 50 states, across +200 specialties and +12k insurance plans. By giving patients the ability to see and choose, we give them power. Your Impact on Our Mission
Zocdoc’s most important asset is our people. As the Director, Total Rewards, you will lead the design, delivery, and management of Zocdoc’s international compensation & benefits programs. Working closely with stakeholders, you’ll ensure our programs are competitive, compliant, and aligned with our mission and business goals. Your day to day is…
- Designing and managing Total Rewards programs, from compensation plans, ensuring they align with Zocdoc’s goals and values
- Serving as the subject matter expert on compensation topics (e.g., salary, bonus, equity, incentives), with a focus on both U.S. and India markets
- Collaborating with HRBPs and business leaders across the U.S. and India to ensure compensation strategies align with the needs of both regions, fostering a consistent and fair approach
- Analyzing data and market insights to craft recommendations that support competitive and equitable rewards practices
- Leading the mid-year and year-end compensation processes, ensuring efficiency, accuracy, and alignment with company objectives
- Overseeing the design and governance of incentive plans, driving engagement while meeting compliance standards
- Acting as a key problem-solver and escalation point for unique compensation and rewards scenarios
- Leading cross-functional projects and initiatives that impact Zocdoc’s Total Rewards strategy
- Advising and influencing senior leadership on rewards-related decisions, presenting data-driven insights with clarity and confidence
- Continuously monitoring industry trends and best practices to inform future-focused Total Rewards strategies
You’ll be successful in this role if you have…
- 5-7 years of experience in compensation, benefits, or related fields, with a focus on compensation and equity, and a proven ability to scale programs in a fast-growing company.
- At least 3 years of experience managing a team or leading projects with cross-functional partners.
- Proven experience navigating the complexities of compensation in global teams, including regulatory compliance and market competitiveness in both the U.S. and India.
- Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships and collaborate effectively with various stakeholders, both domestically and internationally.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to translate complex compensation concepts into clear, actionable insights for different audiences.
- A hands-on, roll-up-your-sleeves mentality, with a balance of strategic thinking and attention to detail in execution.
- Experience leading or managing projects that involve both domestic and international components, demonstrating your ability to manage the unique challenges of working across time zones, cultures, and legal frameworks.
- Experience working in a high-growth, tech-focused organization, where flexibility and the ability to manage competing priorities are crucial.
- Deep proficiency in compensation systems like Workday (strongly preferred), with the ability to leverage data to drive decision-making.
- Experience overseeing compensation and benefits for both U.S. and India-based teams, managing the nuances of each market.
- Professional HR/Compensation/Benefits certifications (such as CCP) are a plus.
- A demonstrated track record of problem-solving in complex and ambiguous environments.
- A strong understanding of compensation regulations and best practices in the U.S. and India, and the ability to apply them to create fair, compliant, and competitive programs.

Zocdoc is committed to fair and equitable compensation practices. Salary ranges are determined through alignment with market data. Base salary offered is determined by a number of factors including the candidate’s experience, qualifications, and skills. Certain positions are also eligible for variable pay and/or equity; your recruiter will discuss the full compensation package details.
NYC Base Salary Range
$180,000—$270,000 USD
