As part of L-Acoustics' R&D Leadership, the Director of Technology, Loudspeaker Systems will lead strategy and innovation within the Loudspeaker R&D group, enhancing both the Research and Product Development pillars. This role involves building and managing the Technology team, collaborating with stakeholders, coordinating with other departments, and ensuring the successful integration and advancement of L-Acoustics products.
More precisely, the Director of Technology will drive the innovation, development, integration, and adoption of Technology & Platform solutions. This includes exploring and integrating new technologies and methodologies, overseeing the development of technology platforms that support product innovation, and ensuring continuous improvement of R&D processes and methodologies.
Loudspeaker Systems Technology Leadership:

Be a driving force in developing, integrating, and proposing technologies to support and enable research and product development teams. This will be achieved by:

Creating and maintaining a comprehensive Technology & Platform roadmap.

Ensuring technology and tools enable robust and mature project processes across research and product development, enhancing development capabilities, efficiency, and quality while setting solid foundations for future innovations.

Defining make-or-buy strategies and establishing the right balance between internal development, co-development, and off-the-shelf acquisitions to support the technology roadmap. In line with this strategy, explore, assess, validate, integrate, and drive adoption of external technologies.

Driving platform technology development to enable modular solutions that can be shared and adapted throughout R&D processes, cycles, and products.

Ensuring solutions are adaptable, evolvable, and ready to scale.

Staying updated on industry best practices and emerging technologies in software development and infrastructure and sharing potential benefits within the organization.
Fostering Innovation and External Collaboration:

Establish academic and industrial partnerships to drive innovation.

Monitor industry trends and advancements continuously.

Attend industry conferences and webinars to gain insights into the latest developments.

Department Management:

Structure, build and manage Technology Loudspeaker System teams.

Manage budget and resource distribution.

Promote a customer-centric mindset within technology teams.

Foster a culture of innovation within technology teams.
Cross-Functional Collaboration:

Work with the other Loudspeaker Systems R&D services and with the Director of Product Development, Loudspeaker Systems, and the Director of Research, Loudspeaker Systems, to build a high-performing R&D group.

Collaborate with the Directors of Technology in the Software and Electronics R&D groups to co-build solutions combining software, hardware, and technology products.

Develop and communicate a clear and achievable Technology roadmap, aligning with business goals and responding to market demands, competitive pressures, and technological advancements.

Collaborate with other divisions on key development projects.
Qualifications:

Proven experience in a similar leadership role ideally in the audio industry for at least 10 years.

Strong understanding of acoustics, mechanics, and industrial design.

Excellent project management and team leadership skills.
