[solidcore] is looking for a Director of Tax. Located in Arlington, Virginia and reporting to the Vice President of Accounting and Controller, this is an exciting opportunity to build a new department and join a rapidly growing, investor-backed organization with a desire to be the leader in the studio fitness space.
Responsibilites:
- Present tax matters, findings, and recommendations to company executives and BOD
- Manage external tax accountants and respond to requests and inquiries
- Oversee all tax filings and compliance with tax laws and regulations
- Oversee the company’s taxes including: sales & use, personal property, commercial real estate, and income
- Review quarterly estimated payments
- Prepare apportionment schedules
- Prepare the company's tax provision and reconciliation to the general ledger
- Manage all tax related correspondence with the IRS, DOR, and local taxing authorities, including audit requests
- Provide the Payroll team with guidance with respect to payroll taxes
- Assist with tax strategy and planning
Qualifications:
- 8 years minimum experience
- Certifications: CPA or Member of the Bar
- Big Four work experience or tax leadership experience with a 100+ location retail business
- Expert communication skills, both written and verbal
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines – someone who thrives in a fast-paced, growth environment
- Excellent attention to detail and analytical skills
