Responsible for managing and overseeing the taxes database maintenance function and employees. Responsible for assisting upper management in protecting CRC Group from loss by ensuring surplus lines tax compliance.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Following is a summary of the essential functions for this job. Other duties may be performed, both major and minor, which are not mentioned below. Specific activities may change from time to time.
1. Responsible for directing and coordinating the Tax Filing Team, especially the assistant managers.
2. Execute a comprehensive compliance review and monitoring program. Monitor and review insurance compliance of assigned subsidiaries and affiliates and report results on a periodic basis.
3. Deal directly with Departments of Insurance to ensure that all surplus lines tax matters are handled correctly and efficiently. Research and interpret issues relating to insurance compliance.
4. Assist insurance agents/producers and provide support for tax filing needs and requests. Actively participate in business decisions that involve interpreting state insurance surplus lines tax statutes in order to provide proper compliance guidance to the line of business (LOB) and the Tax Filers.
5. Responsible for both team and individual execution of assigned tasks and duties in support of various compliance processes.
6. Lead team projects.
7. Continue developing overall knowledge of insurance regulatory compliance utilizing continuing education and professional certifications along with keeping abreast of current developments and trends.
8. In a discreet and secure manner, properly handle all private and confidential information. As sensitive matters arise, manage all situations with sound judgment and objectivity.
9. Assist in solving problems, researching and responding to compliance inquiries and general support of Tax Filers. Participate in relevant projects and efforts in order to achieve goals and objectives of the Internal Review team.
10. Work closely with Chief Administrative Officer to perform assigned work
11. Actively promote and drive a culture of compliance.
QUALIFICATIONS
Required Qualifications:

1. Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance or other business-related field or equivalent work experience
2. Three years of related experience and/or training
3. Strong leadership skills
4. Exceptional analytical and problem solving abilities
5. Ability to effectively interact with employees at all levels of the organization and with a variety of people from diverse backgrounds
6. Strong verbal and written communication skills
7. Ability to effectively handle multiple tasks, details, and interruptions
8. Working knowledge of Microsoft office software, ImageRight and AIM system
9. Ability to adhere to all organizational policies and procedures
10. Limited travel may be required
