About the Role
In this role, you will lead the Supply Chain Excellence, tasked with the mission to enable and elevate the Supply Chain organization to achieve benchmark levels of performance. As a dynamic and visionary leader, you will fulfill multiple roles as the Supply Chain Excellence leader, including mentoring, coach and advocate. As the Supply Chain Excellence leader, you will be responsible for defining and delivering Supply Chain performance improvement through the sharing of best practices, creating capability levels around the organization, the setting of standards and improving collaboration. You will build and develop a center of excellence with strategic influence and measurable improvements to operational efficiency. Your strategic mindset and exceptional leadership skills will be crucial in transforming the Supply Chain organization to meet the needs of an Automotive business on track to double our spend under management in the next 5 yrs.
Your Team
Your team consists of 18 team members with 5 to 6 direct reports. This position reports into the Supply Chain Management Lead.
What You Will Do
- Establish and Execute Strategy:
- Develop and implement a comprehensive strategy for Supply Chain Excellence aligned with organizational as well as company goals and objectives.
- Drive the vision for Supply Chain transformation & organization, promoting best practices and standardization
- Develop and own the transformation and roadmap of the cross-functional Supply Chain organization into a best in class organization within HARMAN & the automotive industry, targeting continuous performance improvement and increasing efficiencies within the organization and enabling the target achievement of the organization on Turn rate 14 Turns of Net Sales, 2,5 % of Logistics Costs of Net Sales and increase Customer satisfaction to A rating level.
- Establish and maintain a rolling, 3yr capability roadmap, enabling HARMAN’s Supply Chain organization to continuously improve processes and performance.
- Bridge to HARMAN's transformational goals, facilitating the transfer of tasks and development needs to the Supply Chain organization, ensuring alignment with the company's evolving strategic objectives.
- Process ownership & enabling Standardization and Best Practices:
- Own all Supply Chain processes, systems, and tools, driving their continuous enhancement and alignment with strategic goals.
- Identify and consolidate Harman internal and industry-leading Supply Chain best practices, frameworks, and methodologies.
- Foster standardization across Supply Chain processes, policies, tools, and metrics.
- Pilot and deploy systems/technologies, enabling efficient and effective Supply Chain operations.
- Install and lead a Supply Chain Process Owner Network which drive the continuous improvements along all Supply Chain Processes in Harman Automotive
- Improve Performance and Value Creation:
- Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) and metrics to measure Supply Chain effectiveness and value creation.
- Use the power of data analytics to identify areas for improvement, streamline processes, and drive impactful initiatives.
- Monitor and analyze Supply Chain performance data to identify areas for improvement and drive impactful initiatives.
- Show the results of continuous improvement in a scalable Balanced Scorecard
- Collaborate with stakeholders to optimize cost savings, risk mitigation, and innovation.
- Foster Cross-Functional Collaboration & Representation:
- Serve as the primary representative of Supply Chain Management in cross-functional discussions on overall Supply Chain and BCP strategies, ensuring that strategic requirements are seamlessly integrated into the broader Automotive organization.
- Represent Supply Chain Management in cross-functional topics, coordinating Supply Chain requirements into the Automotive organization.
- Facilitate collaboration and alignment up to senior management level between Supply Chain Management and key stakeholders.
- Partner with internal Supply Chain teams to develop and deploy common capabilities, leveraging cross-functional expertise and standards
- Promote knowledge sharing, capability-building, and innovation across the organization.
- Develop Supply Chain Management Talents:
- Lead the development and growth of a high-performing SCM Excellence team.
- Provide coaching, mentorship, and training opportunities to enhance the capabilities of team members.
- Foster a culture of continuous learning, professional development, and innovation.
What You Need
- Bachelor’s degree in business administration, Supply Chain Management, or a related field. Master's degree preferred.
- Proven track record of success in leading and transforming procurement functions.
- Deep knowledge and expertise in Supply chain best practices, frameworks, and industry trends.
- 2-5 years in Automotive Supply Chain consultancy for multiple companies
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to leverage data to drive informed decisions.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with stakeholders at all levels.
- Ability to influence and inspire cross-functional teams to adopt new processes and embrace change.
- Demonstrated ability to build and develop high-performing teams.
- Proficiency in SCM technology solutions and systems.
- Experience in leading global intercultural teams
- Strong stakeholder management skills and ability to mediate between conflicted parties
- Strong presentation skills
