The Director, Strategic Accounts embodies the Evolent value “Start by Listening,” forging deep relationships and serving as a trusted advisor to Evolent’s partners. We are looking for a candidate with a strong entrepreneurial spirit to help build our Strategic Account function and contribute to Evolent’s strategy and success through the voice of our customers.
What You’ll Be Doing:
- Supporting an assigned book of business strategically to achieve objectives, including relationship, growth, retention, and customer goals. Including Manage risks and developing opportunities associated with current clients
- Proactively assessing, validating and prioritizing partner needs on an ongoing basis, channeling input from partners into Evolent’s product roadmap and strategy.
- Lead annual Strategic Account review process for each partner, including relationship mapping, risk identification, and action planning, in lead up to Quarterly Value Meeting.
- Supporting the strategy and execution of the commercial process for contract renewals, renegotiations, and expansions.
- Interact with internal and external executives to advance the commercial process and achieve key go-to-market milestones within assigned book of business
- Lead on contract renewal/negotiations; serve as interface with Evolent Implementation Team on translating contractual obligations for new program expansions
- Cultivating productive, trusted relationships with key partner executives and stakeholders – including C-level internal and external relationships
- Work with key stakeholders to implement relationship best practices and drive value communication and satisfaction at all levels of the partner organization.
- Employ strategies to monitor and ensure adherence with all financial contractual SLAs; lead contributor to strategies to drive partner ROI
- Develop best-in-class presentation strategies, narratives, and content to support external meetings with senior stakeholders

- Contract negotiations including renewals/renegotiations
The Experience You’ll Need (Required):
- 5 or more years in relationship management roles (consulting, enterprise sales, account management, etc.)
- Exceptionally high “Emotional Intelligence” – able to connect with diverse constituents, actively listen, and identify key areas of sensitivity
- Demonstrated ability to communicate, present and influence credibly and effectively at all levels of the organization, including at the C-level
- Commercial / business development acumen to identify and close growth opportunities
- Strong command of the financial elements of value-based care businesses and an ability to package this analysis into a compelling value proposition for specific growth opportunities and the partnership overall
- A tenacious partnership ethos with a relentless focus on follow through and maintaining trust
- A steady demeanor with the judgement to determine when to escalate and how to prioritize competing inputs
- The intellectual curiosity to get to the bottom of partner issues and opportunities and the willingness to roll up sleeves and work toward solutions in partnership with operations counterparts and centralized resources
- Excellent listening, negotiation and presentation skills
- Excellent verbal and written communications skills, particularly in the realm of telling a compelling story of value contributed to the partnership
- Ability to manage 20% travel schedule for meetings with partner organizations
Technical Requirements:
We require that all employees have the following technical capability at their home: High speed internet over 10 Mbps and, specifically for all call center employees, the ability to plug in directly to the home internet router. These at-home technical requirements are subject to change with any scheduled re-opening of our office locations.

The expected base salary/wage range for this position is $120,000-125,000. This position is also eligible for a bonus component that would be dependent on pre-defined performance factors. As part of our total compensation package, Evolent is proud to offer comprehensive benefits (including health insurance benefits) to qualifying employees. All compensation determinations are based on the skills and experience required for the position and commensurate with experience of selected individuals, which may vary above and below the stated amounts.
