Role
Lead, manage and build a global team of Site Reliability Engineers. Oversee incident management processes, ensuring timely response, effective resolution, and post-incident analysis to prevent future occurrences. Define and execute the overall SRE strategy and vision in alignment with business goals. Identify, assess, and mitigate incident and risks associated with our systems, applications, and infrastructure. Proactively recognize sources of instability in distributed systems and analyze how complex systems fail from a reliability and resilience perspective. Design, develop, test, and deploy high quality software and infrastructure solutions that meet business requirements and adhere to best practices and coding standards. Build observability and monitoring frameworks for applications, server infrastructure and databases. Configure alerts for website and application outage, performance degradation, resource utilization, and critical errors to proactively detect and respond to issues.
Requirements
Bachelor’s in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related field plus five (5) years of progressively responsible (or a Master’s plus two (2) years of) experience in any role/occupation/position as a Devops or SRE Engineer in the Software and/or Financial services industry. Experience must include: Detecting, troubleshooting, and resolving system, application or infrastructure incidents and issues; Defining, collecting, and analyzing metrics from operating systems and applications to assist in performance tuning and fault-finding using tools(DataDog, AWS Cloudwatch, PagerDuty, etc.); Building and designing high scale network architecture and systems; Writing code using programming languages (Python, bash, Golang, PHP, or Javascript); Implementing infrastructure as code (IaC) practices and automation tools to scale; Managing cloud resources and deployments using programming languages (Terraform, Ansible, Saltstack, etc.); Building CI/CD solutions and pipelines; Integrating, automated testing, and deploying processes into development lifecycle using Jenkins, GitHub actions, CircleCI, and Salt stack; Using Database Systems Fundamentals(MySQL/Postgres/NoSQL) to administer them at scale in distributed systems; Utilizing elastic search, redis/memcache, and MongoDB Database technologies; and Working with event driven systems and messaging infrastructure (Kafka, RabbitMQ, AWS Kinesis, etc.).

As a result, compensation may vary within and across similar roles and positions. Please note that the salary range information below is a good faith estimate for this position and actual compensation for any individual may fall outside this range if warranted by the circumstances applicable to that individual. If we identify a role that would be suitable for a broader range of skills and experience such that we would consider hiring at multiple levels then the range listed below may reflect that breadth.
The salary range estimate for this position is $180,000 - $230,000.
The actual compensation will be at Octus’ sole discretion and will be determined by the aforementioned and other relevant factors. This position is eligible for an additional annual discretionary bonus.
