About the Role
Are you passionate about leading operational excellence in an entrepreneurial and dynamic work environment? Are you yearning for an opportunity to utilize your creativity to grow a scaling process? We are looking for a Director of Software Engineering to join us on our journey to facilitate a digital revolution in the B2B supply chain.
The Director of Software Engineering oversees the software engineering team and the various engineering projects. Responsibilities include developing strategies to optimize operations, setting guidelines and product roadmaps, coordinating managers, and liaising with key clients and business partners. Work closely with the CEO, managing software engineering teams and new product development to deliver key products in various markets to our customers. Interface with sales, software engineers, project managers, and internal management to identify product applications to improve revenue and market development.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Provide strategic direction and leadership for all aspects of Engineering, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and objectives.
  • Foster a culture of innovation, transparency, and accountability in the software engineering department.
  • Grow and maintain a highly skilled Engineering team to meet department and company objectives.
  • Collaborate with Sales and customers on product identification and market direction.
  • Work with other department leads to contribute to cross-functional excellence.
  • Ensure the platform's scalability, reliability, and performance as it grows to meet the needs of our enterprise clients.
  • Own Engineering standards and best practices, including the design review process.
  • Attract, retain, and develop top engineering talent by promoting a culture of learning and growth within the software engineering team.
  • Identify, recommend, and implement new systems, tools, processes, and technologies to improve design, organizational processes, and decision-making, speed to market, and product maintenance.
  • Tracking industry standard benchmarks and driving achievement of best-in-class product specifications and advanced development methods across the organization.


Qualifications/Skills:

  • Deep experience in SAAS/platform architecture, cloud technologies, and best practices for software development and delivery.
  • Exceptional problem-solving and organizational abilities, and a track record of making sound decisions in high-pressure situations.
  • Strong problem analysis and solution skills in dealing with complex technical issues.
  • Extensive experience with prototype, preproduction, and production product launches.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across multidisciplinary teams.
  • A demonstrated commitment to safety, quality, and engineering excellence.


Educational/Experience Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, or a related field. A master's degree is preferred.
  • 5-10 years of Engineering Management at a leadership level.


Compensation: $185,000-200,000
