The base salary range for this position is dependent upon experience and location, ranging from: $139,000 - $190,000
JOB SUMMARY:
Leads the Smart Metering department under Avangrid’s Operational Smart Grids organization, which is responsible for the strategic planning, technical advancement, daily operation, and compliance of advanced metering systems and field networks covering over 2 million meters (and counting), primarily Advanced Metering Infrastructure (“AMI”), across operating companies in the states of Maine, Connecticut, and New York. Responsible for a staff of 40+ internal resources, external contract management, and budget in excess of $10 million.
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:

Provides strategic direction to, and long-term planning for, the department.

Works with the department’s managers to deliver on budgeting, team objectives and performance management, contractor and vendor management, KPIs/performance reporting, and regulatory and contractual compliance.

Spearheads innovative technical solutions for the department.

Supports (and leads where needed) the Smart Metering teams on network performance, meter engineering, systems integration, meter data analytics, application upgrades, field asset management, system life-cycle management, and daily meter system operations and troubleshooting.

Advances the department’s technical knowledge and professional development.

Collaborates with key stakeholders (e.g., Electric Operations, System Planning, Energy Supply, Customer Service).

Supports Disaster Recovery, storm events, and other related duties.
SKILLS AND REQUIREMENTS:

Bachelor's Degree with a minimum of 10 years of relevant work experience required.

Equivalent work experience will be considered.
-
Previous management experience required.
-
Knowledge of electric and/or gas utility operations required.
-
Technical knowledge of at least two of the following required: AMI networks, data management systems, meter engineering, meter system operations, high-level network and security concepts.

Demonstrated track record of driving operational decision-making, learning new technologies and systems, building cross-functional relationships with key stakeholders, and developing and promoting talent.

Experience in at least two of the following required: UNIX/Linux/Windows, Oracle and/or Microsoft SQL Server database, SAP, GIS, data analytics software, metering applications (e.g., Head-end System, MDMS, MV-90 xi).

Previous work experience in IT/OT (e.g., telecommunications, network or systems engineering, application support) or metering operations preferred.

Proficiency in MS Office Suite required.
