The Apogee Large Scale Optical segment has grown from $100M to $200M in revenue through a recent acquisition. Our brands in the LSO portfolio develop and manufacture high-performance coated materials for a variety of applications, including wall décor, museums, graphic design, architectural interiors, digital display, and industrial flooring markets. Position Summary
The Director of Sales role will oversee sales operations, develop strategic plans and report to the Vice President.
Responsibilities
- Provide leadership to the sales team.
- Lead sales team to achieve revenue and profitability targets.
- Reviews and analyzes sales/operational records and reports; uses data to project sales, determine profitability and targets, and identify potential new markets.
- Manages existing customers while prospecting new clients and/or markets.
- Identifies and analyzes customer preferences to properly direct sales efforts.
- Consults with potential customers to understand their needs; identifies and suggests equipment, products, or services that will meet those needs.
- Collaborates with executive leadership to develop sales budgets and strategies.
- Prepare and submit customer quotations.
- Travel up to 75% of time visiting customers throughout USA. Periodic international travel may also be required.
- Acts as company representative at trade association meetings.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Personal Attributes and Experience
- BS degree in Business, Business Administration, Engineering or related field, OR
- Comparable record of sales leadership experience required.
- At least five years of sales experience required.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Good sales and customer service skills with ability to negotiate.
- Outstanding supervisory, leadership and organization skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and Salesforce.
- Strong mechanical aptitude is a plus.
Physical Requirements
- Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Must be able to lift at least 15 pounds at times.
