NASCAR is seeking an experienced sales minded, results driven individual who can develop and secure corporate sponsorships and large-scale hospitality partnerships for Martinsville Speedway & Darlington Raceway. The Director of Sales will work from NASCAR corporate offices in Charlotte, North Carolina and will be primarily responsible for generating new revenue, while renewing and upselling existing regional accounts. This role will involve a high volume of prospecting new business and building relationships with industry clients.
Duties include but are not limited to:
- Collaborate with the VP of Sales on priorities, approach to the market and daily prospecting
- Responsible for establishing new sponsorship & hospitality partnerships
- Responsible for identifying new revenue opportunities at track to sell against
- Prospect new clients, grow revenue from existing clients, and strengthen customer relationships
- Meet and exceed weekly/monthly corporate revenue goals
- Research and identify industries or organizations to pitch sponsorship/hospitality opportunities while also tracking local, regional, and national trends
- Work in coordination with Partnership Services team to ensure proper execution of deliverables and maintain customer service excellence
- Assist in annual revenue/expense budget preparation
- Other duties as assigned by the VP of Sales
Required skills / experience:
- Minimum of 5+ years of proven sales experience within live sports and entertainment
- Bachelor’s Degree required, preferably in Sport Management
- Understanding of sponsorship/hospitality sales, event marketing and activation process
- Ability to confidently communicate the value of sponsorship & hospitality offerings
- Excellent relationship building and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact comfortably and effectively with internal and external clients
- Highly self-motivated with a strong work ethic, results oriented, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment
- Must be able to work/travel evenings and weekends, as required
- Strong computer skills in all aspects of Microsoft Office and CRM
