About the Role

We are looking for a growth-oriented, innovative, passionate leader to join our team as Director of Business Development responsible for leading both inbound and outbound prospecting motions for the company. This key individual will be part of the go-to-market executive leadership team and will lead a team of 15-20 business development reps and managers responsible for prospecting and setting up qualified appointments for the sales teams across all segments to grow the new business pipeline. This position will drive all aspects of our business development organization to help Envoy achieve ambitious growth objectives and capture market share around the world. This is the perfect role for an ambitious leader who has proven experience leading and empowering a team of Sales and Business Development Managers across the US and UK to exceed pipeline generation and growth goals. A core part of this role is championing our sales and business development team to reach their maximum potential and progress in their careers with Envoy.

This is a hybrid position that requires 4 days a week (Monday - Thursday) in our San Francisco HQ.

You will

  • This role will be responsible for building well qualified new business pipeline for the sales team across all segments
  • Be able to analyze results from marketing campaigns and deliver impactful feedback to marketing & sales leadership on lead quality, volume, and demo quality to build a pipeline to achieve and exceed revenue goals.
  • Develop and monitor effective outbound prospecting strategies to increase customer acquisition and retention
  • Support the management of all sales-qualified leads by creating consistency via both marketing-driven and outbound strategies and processes.
  • Hire, oversee, and train a team of Sales and Business Development Managers
  • Collaborate with key stakeholders across multiple departments to develop a comprehensive strategy for building sufficient pipeline to meet and exceed revenue goals
  • Ensure and enforce Salesforce compliance to accurately forecast performance and measure team productivity
  • Create and deliver accurate analysis of individual/team results and maintain reporting to accurately track and manage Business Development Rep metrics
  • Evaluate trends to identify areas for improvement and surface best practices
  • Drive the recruitment and onboarding of new Business Development reps in line with the future organizational strategy.
  • Partner with Sales, CS, and Enablement leadership to develop a career progression plan for all new team members, coaching them to succeed in this role and future roles.

You have

  • Must have 6+ years of direct sales and sales development leadership experience with at least 3 years leading an entire sales development organization in SaaS
  • Proven success leading multiple teams across different regions and solution offerings
  • A demonstrated understanding of sales processes and building successful and modern inbound/outbound models in high-growth organizations
  • Proven experience as a strategic partner with sales leadership to build a successful BDR model to support segment pipeline and people growth objectives
  • Experience managing teams with sales management and lead generation software tools including Salesforce, Outreach.io, LinkedIn Sales Navigator, Gong, Vidyard, etc.)
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with senior-level executives
  • High energy, results, and metrics-driven leader with a positive “grow together, win together and have fun together” attitude
  • Demonstrate how to improve BDR productivity through a proven playbook

Compensation description 

Envoy's compensation package includes market competitive salary, equity for all full time roles, and great benefits. If you are located in San Francisco Bay Area, our expected cash compensation for this role is $212,500- $240,000 OTE.  Final offers may vary within the range provided based on experience, expertise, and other factors.
