Director, Revenue Operations
Summary of Role
We are seeking a strategic and results-oriented Director of Revenue Operations to lead our Revenue Operations team. This role involves managing a small team, while providing actionable insights to enhance revenue generation and operational efficiency. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in sales operations, experience across various sales roles, and a deep understanding of sales organizational structures.
Primary Responsibilities
- Strategic Leadership: Provide strategic direction to the Revenue Operations team and collaborate with leadership to align sales strategies with business objectives.
- Data Analysis & Insights: Continuously mine and analyze sales operations data to identify trends and performance indicators, delivering proactive insights for data-driven decision-making.
- Sales Operations Optimization: Oversee territory assignments, book of business allocations, and quota management to drive productivity and revenue.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with Sales Commissions and Marketing Operations teams to share insights and drive a unified approach to revenue generation.
- Process Improvement: Identify and implement best practices and tools to enhance sales operations processes, leading initiatives to streamline workflows.
- Proactive Problem Solving: Anticipate potential challenges by leveraging data to alert the organization to early warning signs and develop strategies to address issues proactively.
- Customer and Partner Engagement: Engage with customers, channels, and strategic partners (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP) to gather insights that inform sales strategies.
- Mentorship & Development: Mentor and develop direct reports, fostering a culture of continuous improvement within the Sales Operations team.
Other Duties
- Stay updated on industry trends and best practices in sales operations.
- Participate in cross-departmental meetings to provide insights on sales performance.
- Support additional projects as required by the leadership team.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Economics, Finance, or a related field; MBA preferred.
- 8+ years of experience in sales operations or related fields, with a strong understanding of sales structures and processes.
- Prior experience leading and managing a highly responsive, collaborative and adaptive sales operations team
- Proven track record of analyzing complex data sets and deriving actionable insights that drive sales performance.
- Familiarity with CRM systems, preferably Salesforce, and experience in leveraging data for operational decision-making.
- Strong strategic thinking and problem-solving skills, capable of navigating complex challenges.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage diverse stakeholders.
- Experience in a SaaS environment is a plus, along with familiarity with sales roles such as SDR, Account Management, or Account Executive.
