FloQast is seeking a hands-on, entrepreneurial-spirited, and customer-focused Director of Revenue Accounting to join our finance team. Reporting to the Chief Accounting Officer, Corporate Controller, and working closely with the CFO and Executive Leadership Team, this role will lead revenue accounting and order-to-cash processes. The Director will build scalable, cross-functional operational processes aligned with ASC 606, U.S. GAAP, SOX, and internal management reporting standards. Responsibilities include managing revenue accounting, billing, accounts receivable/collections, and partnering with Legal, Revenue Operations, and Sales teams on complex contracts to ensure compliance with revenue recognition guidelines while overseeing accurate contract entry, billing, and collections.


This role involves leading day-to-day operations of the revenue team, improving cross-functional revenue recognition processes, and bringing technical expertise to ensure financial accuracy in reported results. As a “fixer” and “builder,” the Director will actively enhance processes and controls while collaborating with teams across FloQast, including Sales, GTM Operations, Finance, Legal, Business Systems, and external auditors. The ideal candidate is a confident, assertive leader with a track record of success in rapidly growing, pre-IPO/public companies. They should possess excellent analytical, communication, and organizational skills, with a strong ability to manage cross-functional teams and contribute individually to deliver financial accuracy and process excellence in compliance with ASC 606, US GAAP, SEC, and SOX requirements.

What You’ll Do

  • Review and approve all sales orders entered into NetSuite and ensure that all sales orders are properly billed on a monthly basis.
  • Review and approve revenue related month end balance sheet reconciliations.
  • Responsible for the completion of month-end, and quarter-end close and internal management reporting in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Ensure revenue accounting policies are documented and applied consistently on a worldwide basis.
  • Review non-standard clauses in contracts, provide structuring support (as needed) to protect/ maximize GAAP revenue, ARR & cash.
  • Point of contact with external auditor concerning revenue recognition and AR.
  • Take a leading role working cross functionally with Sales, Revenue Operations, and Legal to conduct research on accounting literature to discuss and analyze complex contract terms and determine the appropriate revenue recognition treatment and document complex revenue accounting matters in technical accounting memos. 
  • Lead cross functional collaboration with Sales and Customer Success to ensure that AR is collected in a timely manner and DSO meets our company target.
  • Serve as the point of contact with external auditors concerning revenue recognition and AR.
  • Work with Sales & Legal on pre-review of non-standard requirements from clients (early in the process, to be able to influence verbiage before contract signature).
  • Training sales teams – on do’s & don’ts (re. contract clauses).
  • Work with Legal, Product & Sales on new product/ service launches - define revenue recognition requirements.
  • Spearhead the implementation processes and activities on all cross-functional initiatives impacting revenue recognition from initial development of appropriate revenue accounting treatment to providing a clear roadmap for ongoing ownership to complete the implementation.
  • Drive cross functional process improvements and automation initiatives to enhance efficiency, accuracy, and scalability of accounting operations in area of responsibility. 
  • Ensure a strong control and compliance framework with adherence to US GAAP and other statutory requirements and support for external audits and reviews.
  • Provide training and development to the revenue accounting team.
  • Foster a team environment that encourages accountability and excellence in delivery. 
  • Attract, develop, motivate, and retain talent within the team.
  • Any other tasks that may be assigned to help the company meet its goals.

What You’ll Bring

  • BS degree in Finance, Accounting or Economics.
  • 10+ years of progressive accounting experience in the Big 4 and industry, with a mix of public company, public accounting and pre-IPO experience.
  • CPA with revenue accounting, order to cash experience and prior management experience are a must.
  • Strong expertise and in-depth knowledge of ASC 606 rules with a focus on SaaS/Software industry.
  • Proven ability to work independently with minimal direction, think freely, and navigate ambiguity while providing resourceful problem-solving, guidance, and strong technical expertise in revenue recognition.
  • Flexibility and eagerness to pivot to new priorities, take on new tasks, and thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  • Strong leadership, analytical and critical thinking skills.
  • Able to quickly grasp company operations and business drivers and communicate effectively across the organization and to upper management.
  • Excellent people skills, ability to articulate verbally and written, debate, evaluate and document complex process issues, ability to think quickly and present to an audience.

The base pay range for this position is $170,000- $200,000. This position may be eligible for a bonus plan in addition to base pay. Compensation is not limited to base salary.
