What You’ll Be Doing:
You’ll be part of a high-performing growth team focused on driving partnerships with leading health plans nationally with deal values of $5M+ per year. The Director, Proposals & Commercial Operations will be responsible for the development and management of proposals in response to RFPs, RFIs, and other opportunities. You will work with the business development team, sales team, and other subject matter experts to develop proposals that win new business. You will be responsible for the end-to-end proposal process, including proposal strategy, development, writing, editing, production, and delivery. In this role, you will also be responsible for maintaining the proposal library and ensuring that all proposals are compliant with company and industry standards. Strong organizational skills and a solution-forward approach will be important drivers of success for this role. In addition, you will be asked to provide operational and project management leadership of sales adjacent initiatives.
Role responsibilities include:
- Prepare proposals and responses to RFP and RFI questionnaires by leveraging library content, gathering data, writing drafts, and obtaining approvals.
- Write, edit, and proofread proposals, ensuring all content is accurate, compliant, and persuasive
- Develop relationships with key internal stakeholders across all areas of the company to ensure a coordinated and successful proposal process
- Manage and refine the proposal development process from start to finish, including coordinating subject matter expert and other team members, developing timelines, and overseeing production
- Conduct research and analysis as needed to support the development of winning proposals
- Maintain an organized library of past proposals, boilerplate language, graphics, and other materials
- Train new team members on proposal development best practices
- Stay up to date on industry trends and developments to ensure that proposals are current and relevant
- Participate in post-mortem debriefs following the submission of proposals to identify areas of improvement
- Serve as the primary point of contact for subject matter experts during the proposal development process
- Provide project management support for initiatives such as content development and internal training/development
The Experience We Prefer:
- Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience
- 5+ years professional experience in proposal management, sales, or marketing
- Demonstrated success leading and managing teams through the proposal process
- Excellent writing, editing, and proofreading skills
- Exceptional organizational and time-management skills
- Attention to detail and accuracy
Finishing Touches:
- Effective presentation skills and listening skills
- Strong ability to navigate matrixed team environments to achieve buy in from all parties and own results
- Experience in the healthcare industry preferably in a health plan or health system environment
- Experience with government contracting and RFP processes
- Experience with RFP management software (i.e. dtSearch)
- Ability to improve processes and refine the RFP development cycle as needed
Technical Requirements:
We require that all employees have the following technical capability at their home: High speed internet over 10 Mbps and, specifically for all call center employees, the ability to plug in directly to the home internet router. These at-home technical requirements are subject to change with any scheduled re-opening of our office locations.

The expected base salary/wage range for this position is $120,000-125,000. This position is also eligible for a bonus component that would be dependent on pre-defined performance factors. As part of our total compensation package, Evolent is proud to offer comprehensive benefits (including health insurance benefits) to qualifying employees. All compensation determinations are based on the skills and experience required for the position and commensurate with experience of selected individuals, which may vary above and below the stated amounts.
