Job Description

Position Summary:

The Director, Professional Relations is responsible for driving growth through strategic relationships with key industry professionals and institutions, such as dermatologists, plastic surgeons, aesthetic clinics, and med spas. This role emphasizes sales-driven relationship management to increase brand presence, promote laser and aesthetic solutions, and drive revenue through partnership initiatives and professional education programs. The Director will be an essential brand ambassador, cultivating trust and ensuring our products are the preferred choice for practitioners in the field.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Build and nurture relationships with top professionals and institutional partners, including dermatologists, plastic surgeons, and aesthetic specialists.
  • Serve as a trusted advisor and main point of contact, offering consultative support on the benefits, usage, and profitability of our laser and aesthetic technology.
  • Identify, engage, and contract with KOLs to drive product awareness, credibility, and education among peers and potential clients.
  • Oversee training programs with KOLs and other industry experts for public presentations, panel discussions, and hands-on workshops that align with the company’s messaging and goals.
  • Establish and expand partnerships with residency programs, academic institutions, and training centers to position our products as integral to professional training and education.
  • Lead the execution and negotiation of partnership agreements, contracts, and service arrangements to ensure all contractual obligations align with company goals and compliance standards.
  • Develop and implement strategies to capture new business opportunities and expand the company's footprint in high-growth regions and markets.
  • Design and execute educational initiatives, including webinars, workshops, and hands-on training sessions, to demonstrate product efficacy, safety, and clinical benefits.
  • Collaborate with marketing and product teams to create tailored educational materials that underscore the competitive advantages of our technology for both practitioners and patients.
  • Provide insights from KOLs and institutional partners to inform sales strategies and enhance customer engagement.
  • Represent the company at industry events, trade shows, and conferences to increase brand visibility and position the company as a leader in aesthetics and laser technology.
  • Act as a spokesperson for product innovations, educating and influencing the clinical community and institutional partners.
  • Uphold the company’s ethical standards and regulatory requirements in all professional interactions and partnerships.
  • Set KPIs to evaluate professional engagement efforts, conversion rates, and sales performance within key accounts and partnerships.
  • Regularly report on professional relations activities, industry insights, and recommendations for enhancing professional outreach strategies.
  • Other duties as needed or required.

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements & Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Sales, or a related field; Master’s degree preferred.
  • 8+ years of experience in sales, professional relations, or business development within the aesthetics, medical device, or laser technology industries.
  • Strong track record in consultative sales, relationship management, and account growth, with an understanding of the aesthetic laser market.
  • Proven experience in speaker training and development, including preparing Key Opinion Leaders (KOLs) and other industry experts for effective public presentations, clinical demonstrations, and panel discussions.
  • Strong negotiation and contract management skills.
  • Exceptional communication and presentation skills tailored for a clinical audience.
  • Ability to work independently, managing multiple priorities and meeting ambitious sales targets in a dynamic, competitive environment.
  • Willingness to travel ~60-80% of the time, including overnights as needed.

Additional Information

Cutera expects to reasonably pay in the range listed below for this position based on the city and state listed in the job posting. The actual compensation is influenced by a wide array of factors, including but not limited to skill set, level of experience, education, and candidate residence if the position is remote or field-based.

Base salary: $195,000 - $225,000
