Bounteous is seeking a Director, Product Management (located in Chennai, India) to grow the Product Management craft in India, play a pivotal role in coaching and training managers, and lead the vision and planning of digital initiatives for our clients. The Director, Product Management will provide expert knowledge to inform strategic product direction, while guiding clients through an insightful approach to their challenges, seen and unseen, and managing the collaborative effort with cross-functional teams.
They will serve as a liaison between highly motivated, multidisciplinary teams and our clients to build solutions. This individual will have a clear understanding of, and experience in, all phases of the software development lifecycle including vision and scope definition, roadmapping, creative and user experience design, requirements specification and prioritization, iterative development, manual and automated testing, handoff, and delivery.
The Director, Product Management in this role will be responsible for supporting recruitment efforts for Product Management talent and developing team members' Product Management capabilities. They will serve as a manager to guide and mentor team members through their career paths, while contributing to internal practice advancement to maintain consistent quality across projects and leadership in the industry.
This Director, Product Management role is based in Chennai, India. The Director will therefore also serve as a key point of contact between the team members he/she will help recruit, scale and train in India, and his/her product management counterparts globally (including North America). The best candidate will have a bias for action and bring a positive energy to Bounteous and the Product Team.
Role and Responsibilities:
Product Execution
Support Pod Leaders (Business Unit Team Leaders across Retail, Health, Dining, and Finance industry verticals) in planning, directing, managing, and coordinating day-to-day business activities and product-related projects (agendas, briefings, and wider materials for internal meetings and major client events)
Actively engage in client communication, working closely with the Pod Leaders, Client Services, and Project Management teams to ensure client satisfaction
Work with Pod Leaders to plan staffing levels and contribute to recruiting and hiring new team members located in Chennai, India
Lead onboarding efforts for Product Management
Identify and help solve Product Team challenges and gaps
Oversee teams to emphasize data-driven decision-making wherever possible
Oversee assigned accounts for the Product Management workstream and review Product Management deliverables, providing direction and ensuring client satisfaction
Provide advisory and consultative value to internal teams facing delivery challenges, particularly those related to the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC)
Influencing People + Team Building
Partner with multidisciplinary teams to ensure the realization of business outcomes in working solutions
Constructs comprehensive and effective presentations that translate issues into actionable objectives and a compelling story
Partner with the Client Services team to identify account growth opportunities and support sales initiatives
Develop a strong network of relationships with key stakeholders across Bounteous (service lines, client accounts, sector, wider business support teams)
Has a collaborative spirit and is a team player
Provide mentorship and career development for team members while maintaining company culture that emphasizes quality, continuous improvement, key employee retention and high performance
Responsible for mentoring, coaching and training client-facing leads, managers, etc. across Pod teams
Work with Product Leadership in North America to build and grow the Product Craft in India, including activities such as: template creation, shaping training programs, defining processes and methodologies, creating accelerators and contributing to building a knowledge management space
Ensure best practices, consistency and reliability in delivering work to client expectations and requirements
Drive utilization of tools and applications to facilitate product execution and management, including tracking and reporting
Play a key role in evaluation of and recruitment of talent for Product Management
Work directly with Pod Leaders and teams when needed for Product Execution
Work with leadership across India and North America to define the future state operating model with the Pod teams and the Product Management competency
Customer Insight
Serve as a key contributor to developing Bounteous’ perspective on customer experience; collaborate with digital strategists, technologists, data scientists, and other specialists to craft a powerful point-of-view
Collaborate with Analytics & Insights leadership in Chennai to ensure the Product Management and A&I competencies are well aligned to deliver value for clients
Product Strategy
Defines project vision for large and complex projects
Conducts market and product analysis to inform decision-making and product strategy
Creates and executes product strategies for growing/operating digital platforms or ecosystems
Support Product Managers to develop key industry thought leadership; present our industry point-of-view to senior customers and prospects in account meetings, customer roundtables, conferences, and industry events
Is digital-savvy and informed on innovations, trends and technologies in the digital space
Must be resourceful, with the ability to find solutions where they are not obvious
Develops prioritized roadmaps based on value scoring in collaboration with stakeholders for business initiatives
Recognizes and synthesizes key findings and develops alternative solutions; comfortable challenging assumptions
Must be able to manage program-level or enterprise priorities
Support other team members (Delivery Managers, Technical Managers) on projects as needed, providing perspective and input from Product Management leadership to ensure they are fulfilling their responsibilities
Preferred Qualifications:
BS/BA in relevant program, or equivalent work experience
8+ years of product management experience working in a strategic capacity or consulting
Experience working with an Executive Leadership Team and/or C-suite team members; support and facilitation across all internal and external initiatives
People management experience required
Familiarity with multiple functional suites and software packages for requirements, prototyping, and A/B testing (JIRA, Azure DevOps, Figma, Adobe Target, Optimizely, etc.)
Deep knowledge and experience with multiple SDLCs such as Agile, Scrum, and traditional waterfall
Strong foundation in core Product Management skill sets
Exposure to a wide variety of technology platforms; eg: Drupal, Adobe, Magento, Shopify, Salesforce, OMS, PIMs, Google Analytics etc.
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Strong skills in MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint are great assets
Digital agency experience is a plus
Experience working with Global Delivery teams is a plus
Experience across our primary industry verticals (Retail, Health, Dining & Finance) is a plus
Willingness to travel

- Promote and enforce awareness of key information security practices, including acceptable use of information assets, malware protection, and password security protocols
- Identify, assess, and report security risks, focusing on how these risks impact the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of information assets
- Understand and evaluate how data is stored, processed, or transmitted, ensuring compliance with data privacy and protection standards (GDPR, CCPA, etc.)
- Ensure data protection measures are integrated throughout the information lifecycle to safeguard sensitive information
