JOB DESCRIPTION

The Director, Product Analytics is responsible for driving business results and empowering informed, data-driven product decisions by providing the product organization that supports FOX with timely insights and thought partnership.

As an analytics lead for company initiatives/projects that require extensive discovery effort, the Director, Product Analytics will serve as a subject matter expert for questions related to product research, experimentation and behavioral analytics. They will also manage projects, conduct presentations, and make clearly communicated recommendations to various levels of leadership.

They will also be responsible for ensuring the team members they manage are using and advocating for best practices, driving continuous improvement of analytics methodologies/ technologies, and improving overall team efficiency and effectiveness. Expected to perform these duties with little daily oversight.

A SNAPSHOT OF YOUR RESPONSIBILTIES

  • Lead analytics implementation and maintenance to ensure accurate and reliable data capture, systems and tools.  Ensure the data in our reporting and analyzing systems are accurate and well-governed and meet business and Product requirements.
  • Serve as analytics lead for company initiatives/projects, able to establish business objectives, questions, and requirements with stakeholders and provide tactical consultation as an analytics subject matter expert for driving the best business outcomes, partnering with cross-functional teams within the organization to support insights-driven business decisions aimed at growth / business optimization with minimal oversight.
  • Review Analysis with internal and external audiences of various sizes and seniority - presenting cohesive and well-communicated insights
  • Monitor the health and performance of products and business, anticipate business needs and proactively work with stakeholders to establish requirements for advanced recurring and ad-hoc analytics support, including reporting, analyses, actionable insights, and recommendations to drive growth. Set proper delivery expectations according to business priorities with limited manager's oversight.
  • Apply advanced analytics methodologies to our online properties' visitor behavioral and business data, and provide insights not only based on historical trends, but also future forecast to inform optimization strategies.
  • support testing analytics and direct stakeholders on formulating test strategies, individual test designs, measurement and analysis of experiments.
  • Establish and enforce product analytics standards and best practices. coach Product Analytics team on analytics standards and best practices; validate their work.
  • Work cross-functionally to identify opportunities in analytics tech stack and architecture. Must be able to work directly with vendors, engineers, and architects to drive technological advances and to resolve issues.
  • Work with leadership to define priorities that align with evolving business priorities, ability to set proper expectations and manage project/task progress with team members and stakeholders, ensuring successful and on-time delivery of key milestones.
  • Builds and champions a healthy team culture, ability to coach team members and support the selection, training, development, appraisal and work assignments of team members.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned

WHAT YOU WILL NEED

  • Must have history of web analytics, experience successfully managing complex web analytics teams and/or projects
  • Experience building and leading Product Analytics teams – especially in a start-up environment within tight timelines.
  • Bachelor's degree (b. A.) From four-year college or university preferably business or analytical. Master's degree preferred.
  • Extensive experience with web / digital analysis and related software preferred (e.g., Amplitude, adobe analytics, Heap, Optimizely, etc.)
  • Advanced excel skills required, including formula, statistical functions, graphs, visualization, and macros development, and plug-ins for other business intelligence platforms
  • Working knowledge of ad serving platforms (e.g. Dfp, adx)
  • Proficiency in common business software packages including record keeping, routine database activity, word processing, spreadsheet, graphics, presentation, email, instant messaging, web/video conferencing, etc.
  • Intermediate knowledge of advanced statistics, (e.g. Regression Analysis).
  • Advanced experience with experimental design.
  • Advanced knowledge of sql-based relational databases (e.g. Athena, redshift, netezza, etc.) .
  • Experience with media player products and associated data/Reporting (e.g. Datazoom, Conviva, etc.).
  • Ability to consult and influence as a subject matter expert for the best outcomes to drive business successes.
  • Ability to anticipate stakeholders’ needs and recognize the opportunity to provide proactive insights to build tight partnership.
  • Ability to translate complex questions into clear and actionable analysis plans as well as coach other team members to develop this skill.
  • Proven problem-solving ability with creative solutions; knows how to ask the right questions and prove/disprove hypotheses with data insights; not afraid to challenge assumptions and intuitions.
  • Excellent communication skills, including the ability to clearly and effectively communicate and present analysis findings to stakeholders at all levels. Must be comfortable translating data and insights into a cohesive insight story – to include strong data visualization.
  • Demonstrated effective relationship building skills.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to effectively prioritize in a real-time event/deadline-driven atmosphere.
  • Adept with leveraging agile development and project management methodologies.

Pursuant to state and local pay disclosure requirements, the pay rate/range for this role, with final offer amount dependent on education, skills, experience, and location is $160,000.00-200,000.00 annually. This role is also eligible for an annual discretionary bonus, various benefits, including medical/dental/vision, insurance, a 401(k) plan, paid time off, and other benefits in accordance with applicable plan documents. Benefits for Union represented employees will be in accordance with the applicable collective bargaining agreement.
