Job Summary

As the Director of Prepared Foods, you will oversee the buying and merchandising of the Prepared Foods department. You will also provide leadership in the effective utilization of Team Members to achieve business objectives integrating human resource development, fiscal strategies and customer service. Other duties include assuming responsibility for all financial results of the department including retail and wholesale sales, profits, direct and indirect costs and ultimately pretax profit.

Job Description

  • Experience Required: 5 to 10 years retail merchandising experience, specifically in prepared foods
  • Experience Required: Strong Leadership and Management Skills: Ability to lead and motivate teams, delegate tasks effectively, and make sound decisions. 
  • Analytical Skills: Ability to analyze data, identify trends, and make data-driven decisions. (forecasting/budgeting)
  • Strategic Thinking: Ability to develop and implement long-term merchandising strategies to grow the Prepared Foods category
  • Certification Required: Food Safety
  • Education Desired: Bachelors Degree

THIS IS A HYBRID WORK MODEL, REQUIRED IN OUR CRANBERRY TOWNSHIP HQ 3X PER WEEK

Job Responsibilities

  • Manage the buying and merchandising functions for categories and subcategories for Prepared Foods with regards to trends, competitive activity, sales and profits to improve the overall performance of the Prepared Foods Department.
  • Implement and support all leadership development tools to ensure the continuous development of Team Members and their ability to meet changing customer requirements and the Company's business objectives in carrying out Company strategies.
  • Direct the Prepared Foods Department staff to ensure product requirements, concept development, and financial objectives are being met.
  • Develop and maintain plan-o-grams tailored to specific stores to appropriately merchandise products.
  • Maintain cognizance of product variety, trends, market opportunities and pricing structures/ strategies to maximize sales and profits.
  • Identify new suppliers and add/discontinue products to maintain variety of product.
  • Develop and implement advertising campaigns for assigned categories in order to promote products.
  • Establish Distribution Center and retail pricing guidelines, gross profit, sales objectives and inventory turn objectives to maximize potential.
  • Write business plans and action plans in order to increase sales and maximize profitability of the Prepared Foods Department.
  • Perform store visits to identify/resolve problems to ensure that customer requirements are met.
  • Develop, direct and implement new concepts, recipes, products, procedures and policies.
  • Analyze and understand customer purchase data in order to recognize trends and maximize profits.
