Role Overview:
The Director of Political Sales will be a key leader in driving Nexstar’s political advertising revenue strategy, overseeing major accounts, managing high-value relationships, and optimizing sales performance across broadcast, digital, and CTV platforms. This role requires deep expertise in political ad buying cycles, campaign media strategy, and revenue forecasting, as well as the ability to lead and develop a high-performing sales team.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and execute Nexstar’s political sales strategy, ensuring revenue growth across national, state, and local campaigns.
- Manage top-tier relationships with political agencies, PACs, campaign buyers, and advocacy organizations.
- Drive multi-platform sales by integrating broadcast, digital, and CTV opportunities to maximize advertiser impact.
- Collaborate with the VP of Political Sales to refine and expand Nexstar’s political advertising footprint.
- Oversee a team of Account Executives, ensuring training, performance tracking, and revenue targets are met.
- Monitor competitive intelligence, analyzing political ad spending trends to identify market opportunities.
- Ensure compliance with FCC regulations, political ad disclosure laws, and Nexstar’s internal policies.
Ideal Candidate:
- 5+ years of experience in political ad sales, media buying, or campaign advertising strategy.
- Strong leadership skills with a track record of managing teams and driving revenue growth.
- Deep industry relationships with political buyers, PACs, and advocacy groups.
- Expertise in broadcast, digital, and CTV sales, with a data-driven approach to decision-making.
- Exceptional negotiation and strategic planning skills, able to close high-stakes deals in fast-moving election cycles.
Salary range: $150,000 - $200,000 plus bonus
