What You’ll Be Doing:
The Director of Performance Analytics - Oncology and Member focus leverages and creates analytic tools and models to address complex business issues and enhance decision-making processes, significantly impacting the organization and patient health. This highly visible role provides analytic support and thought leadership for Evolent products across Medical Cost Management, Clinical Operations, Product Strategy, and Client Finance.
What You’ll Be Doing:
- Primary lead and focal point across business areas in the development of analytics to inform decision making.
- Analyse claim and authorization data to identify trends, calculate cost of healthcare, and identify opportunities for Evolent to add value to payers and patients.
- Support the development of new models and approaches aimed at quantifying and articulating our value.
- Set priorities and provide oversight to team of analysts.
- Team building through formal meetings, training and mentoring of analysts on team.
- Working with leaders across the organization with a consultative approach to gather requirements and develop plans for complex time sensitive analytics.
- Using programming skills to explore, examine and interpret large volumes of data in various forms to complete deliverables.
- Communicate technical concepts and implications primarily to internal stakeholders.
- Collaborating with internal/external business customers to understand their problems and objectives, solve business questions, and help them to achieve goals by performing statistical analysis, developing analytic models, creating data reports/dashboards using a variety of performance metrics.
The Experience You’ll Need (Required):
- Bachelor’s degree, preferably with a quantitative major (e.g. actuarial, statistics, operations research, mathematics, economics).
- 8+ years of professional experience in healthcare data analytics with a payer, provider, vendor, or related healthcare consulting entity.
- 5+ year of experience in leadership, strategic planning, and project management.
- Familiarity with current Evolent analytics environments.
- Strong proficiency with SQL, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft PowerPoint, Power BI.
- Ability to communicate clearly with diverse stakeholders to solve problems; ability to translate between business needs and analytical needs.
- Demonstrated ability to work cross functionally with other technical and non-technical teams.
- Exceptionally strong analytical abilities, with track record of identifying insights from quantitative and qualitative data.
Finishing Touches (Preferred):
- Recognized subject matter expert in one or more of Evolent’s specialty products, preferably Oncology and Member Navigation.
- Master's Degree, especially with a quantitative focus (e.g. data science, machine learning, statistics, mathematics, computer science, or engineering)
- Familiarity with healthcare reimbursement methodologies and calculations such as DRGs, Revenue Codes, CPT Codes, RVUs, bundled payments, etc.
- Working knowledge of healthcare claims; specifically, differences between institutional vs professional billing and various sites of care/service
- Familiarity with value-based care and utilization management
- Understanding of data systems and the critical thinking skills to solve new problems and adapt to changes in data architecture
- Experience with other languages/platforms such as Python, R, SAS, Hadoop, AWS, ArcGIS
Technical Requirements:
We require that all employees have the following technical capability at their home: High speed internet over 10 Mbps and, specifically for all call center employees, the ability to plug in directly to the home internet router. The expected base salary/wage range for this position is $125,000 - 140,000. This position is also eligible for a bonus component that would be dependent on pre-defined performance factors. As part of our total compensation package, Evolent is proud to offer comprehensive benefits (including health insurance benefits) to qualifying employees. All compensation determinations are based on the skills and experience required for the position and commensurate with experience of selected individuals, which may vary above and below the stated amounts.
