The Director, People Partner GTM leader will serve as the primary HR partner to multiple Squarespace business departments, acting as a trusted advisor and coach to the department's leadership teams. You will own the end-to-end creation and management of a cohesive, proactive People strategy to support the growth of our GTM teams including Customer Operations, Enterprise Sales, Partners & Channels, Marketing, Creative, Domains and Payments teams. We are looking for someone who has supported GTM functions in a high-growth company with experience leading and developing a team of HR Business Partners who will report directly to this role.

You will report to our Chief People Officer. This is a hybrid role that will require 3 days per week in our NY office.

You'll Get To…

Strategic Advisory:

  • Act as the main HR partner to several of our larger GTM leaders coaching on performance management, professional development, inclusive leadership, employee relations, and compensation planning.
  • Collaborate with your R&D and G&A HRBP peers to align and implement people initiatives that drive a culture of high performance, innovation, and continuous improvement.
  • Serve as a trusted advisor to senior leadership, offering data-driven insights and recommendations to support decision -making. Talent and Organizational Health:
  • Leverage data and market trends to execute People management strategies that align with team priorities.
  • Partner with department leadership to identify and develop high-potential employees, supporting succession planning and professional growth within the department.
  • Design and implement engagement and development programs to enhance team dynamics, collaboration, and retention, while partnering with People team COE leaders to facilitate leadership development and skill building initiatives.

Workforce Planning & Change Management:

  • Lead strategic headcount planning and organizational design with your team and leaders to identify future talent needs, assess workforce capabilities, and determine headcount requirements based on business goals.
  • Leverage workforce analytics and insights to recommend headcount adjustments and optimize team structures.
  • Support career progression for your team of HR business Partners.
  • Champion change management strategies to support transformations, mergers, or re-organizations.

HR Program Execution:

  • Lead and execute People initiatives that address department-specific needs while aligning with broader company objectives.
  • Drive consistency and effectiveness in corePeople programs including performance management, organizational health, talent planning, succession planning, and talent development.
  • Collaborate with COE's to deliver integrated people solutions and provide guidance to department leaders.

Operational Excellence:

  • Proactively identify opportunities for process efficiency and innovation, partnering with COE leadership to maximize impact and drive alignment with company goals.
  • Coordinate with Talent Acquisition, FP&A, and Principal People Partner on headcount planning, internal mobility, and hiring efficiencies across the organization.
  • Manage mid-to-high-risk employee relations issues, collaborating with the ER COE and Legal, as needed, to mitigate risks and ensure compliance.

Data Analytics and Insights:

  • Analyze HR metrics and trends to guide talent planning, engagement, and retention strategies within the department.
  • Use data-driven insights to measure the impact of initiatives and identify opportunities for improvement.

Team Leadership & Development:

  • Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing team of People Partners, providing strategic guidance, coaching, and growth opportunities.
  • Establish and monitor team goals, priorities, and metrics aligned with organizational objectives.
  • Foster a culture of collaboration, innovation, and accountability within the People Partner team.

Who We're Looking For

  • 12-15 years of progressive HR experience, including dedicated experience as an HR Business Partner and people manager. Must have 6+ years in a leadership role managing HR teams and advising department leadership and people managers.
  • Bachelor's Degree.
  • Experience in the tech industry is strongly preferred, with a proven ability to support fast-paced, innovative teams.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and execute HR strategies tailored to both department-specific and company-wide goals, ensuring alignment with organizational priorities.
  • Proven ability to analyze data, such as turnover rates, engagement metrics, performance trends, and workforce capabilities, to pull actionable insights and drive a comprehensive people strategy. Strong skills in leveraging workforce analytics to identify opportunities, optimize team structures, and inform talent planning decisions.
  • Thorough understanding and interest of business operations with the ability to align HR initiatives with organizational objectives, ensuring strategic impact and measurable results.
  • Experience managing HR projects, employee relations, and talent initiatives, demonstrating a capacity to navigate complex challenges and deliver effective outcomes.
  • Skilled in managing change initiatives that enhance team dynamics, engagement,and organizational effectiveness. .
  • Excellent communication, active listening , and collaboration skills, with the ability to influence decisions and build strong relationships across multiple levels of leadership.
  • Thorough understanding of HR practices, including employment law and regulations, to ensure compliance and maintain high ethical standards.

Cash Compensation Range: $203,500 - $250,000 USD

The base salary for this position will vary based on job-related criteria including relevant skills, experience, and location, among other factors.

In addition to the cash compensation above (which includes base salary and, where applicable for eligible roles, may include on-target commissions or overtime pay), Squarespace employees are eligible to receive an incentive award as part of their total compensation.
