Your Impact as a Director, People Operations - APAC:

As Director, People Operations - APAC, you will be responsible for building and managing our People Operations’ infrastructure in selected countries as well as managing the full employee lifecycle. This role is instrumental in shaping our people strategy and creating a compliant, scalable, and positive work environment.


Your Mission:

  • People Operations Strategy
  • Identify and facilitate long-term initiatives to meet the strategic objectives of the People Operations function and business goals.
  • Deliver operational excellence to employees and managers.
  • Review key business performance targets and their related talent implications with business leaders.
  • Develop and promote the use of feedback mechanisms for both employees and business leaders to influence the continuous improvement of People Operations services and processes.
  • Proactively seek employee feedback to better understand employee perspectives and anticipate their needs.
  • Lead projects analyzing processes to identify gaps or redundancies and make recommendations to streamline, eliminate, automate, and improve existing processes and programs that will effectively support the organization.
  • Collaborate closely with People Operations, Total Rewards, and Talent Acquisition Leaders, as well as with department leadership across the company, the General Manager – APAC, and other leaders in the APAC region.

  • People Operations Infrastructure & Policy Development
  • Design and implement regional People Operations policies, processes, and procedures aligned with company nucleus behaviors and business goals.
  • Develop country-specific employment contracts, handbooks, and compliance frameworks.
  • Ensure compliance with local labor laws, tax regulations, and data privacy standards across multiple countries.
  • Oversee compensation structures, employee benefits programs, and payroll management processes.

  • People Operations Systems & Tools
  • Utilize Human Resources Information Systems (HRIS; Workday), payroll (ADP), and recruitment systems including the Applicant Tracking System (ATS; Lever) to ensure seamless employee data management.
  • Develop and standardize processes across countries for onboarding, performance reviews, offboarding, and reporting.
  • Ensure data input into HRIS is accurate for all new and departing employees systems for employee documentation and ensure best practices in record-keeping and retention. Ensure any changes to employee data is correct.

  • Talent Management & Employee Lifecycle
  • In collaboration with People Operations and business leaders, create plans to manage the entire employee lifecycle, from recruitment and onboarding to performance management and offboarding.
  • Work closely with hiring managers to forecast talent needs and align recruiting strategies with business growth.
  • Design scalable onboarding and offboarding processes to ensure a seamless and engaging employee experience.
  • Develop career growth framework to enhance talent and succession planning.
  • Develop learning & development initiatives to develop the skills and capabilities of employees to drive the business.

  • Payroll, Compliance, and Employee Relations
  • In collaboration with the Senior Manager, Payroll & Benefits and the outsourced payroll provider, ensure timely management of payroll disbursements, including in multi-currency environments.
  • Handle employee relations matters, including dispute resolution and grievance handling.
  • Manage performance-related concerns, terminations, and exit interviews professionally and within legal frameworks.

  • People Operations Business Partnering & Leadership Support
  • Navigate the relationship between the employees and the organization, ensuring fair and equitable treatment and compliance with legal and industrial relations requirements.
  • Strategically manage organization-wide relationships, including unions and other collective entities within the legal, organizational and policy frameworks.
  • Serve as a strategic advisor to senior leadership, aligning people strategy with business goals.
  • Partner with managers to address workforce challenges and coach them on employee engagement and retention.
  • Act as a trusted People Operations Business Partner / Human Resources Business Partner (HRBP), supporting teams through change management, restructurings, and international expansion.

  • Culture & Engagement Initiatives
  • Build and maintain a positive and inclusive company culture across diverse locations.
  • Develop employee engagement strategies, including feedback mechanisms, recognition programs, and DEI initiatives.
  • Lead initiatives that promote work-life balance, employee wellbeing, and team-building events.

Your Background:

  • 10+ years of experience in HR/People Ops roles, including in early stage companies.
  • Proven experience in multi-country operations with knowledge of international labor laws and compliance.
  • Broad HR / People Operations expertise, including business partnership, payroll, employee relations, industrial relations, talent management, and L&D.
  • Exceptional project management skills with the ability to set up and manage processes from scratch.
  • Experience with Human Resources Information Systems (HRIS), payroll platforms, and Applicant Tracking Systems (ATS).
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to build relationships across cultures and regions.
  • Ability to be hands-on and adaptable, with the ability to thrive in an evolving, ambiguous environment.
  • Willingness to travel domestically and/or internationally, up to 10%.
  • Comfort in fast-paced, rapid growth environments.
