Job Description and Responsibilities

The Visa Rules, Compliance and Standards (RCS) team establishes operating principles and enforces common interoperable rules and standards for our products and services by which clients must operate their Visa programs within the ecosystem. 

This is a Management Career role that will be instrumental in leading Rules Operations as well as supporting transformation within RCS. The position is ideal for an experienced leader who is passionate about collaborating with business partners and stakeholders to manage our global Visa rules operations processes including publication activities, inquiries, waivers and supporting Visa Rules Committee administration. This position will be a key driver in the effort to transform these processes in alignment with the RCS team's future state.

The successful candidate will possess an extensive leadership background, with demonstrated experience in overseeing multiple processes with enterprise reach, driving process efficiency, and ability to partner with and influence senior leaders and stakeholders to ensure rules operations run efficiently and effectively. The candidate will be a self-starter comfortable with ambiguity, with strong attention to detail, and excellent collaboration skills.

Core responsibilities include:

  • Oversight of processes and team members managing rule operations processes, and doing so in partnership with rule authors and RCS leadership from all regions globally
  • Validate all rule change proposals and waivers are completed with highest quality standards and validating all criteria have been met, within service level objective timeframes, and that all materials meet department standards of consistency and quality and are delivered to the Visa Rules Committee (VRC) for full or delegated approval.
  • In addition, this leader will oversee the publication of Visa Rule books, encompassing all approved rule proposals in various languages to meet regional requirements around the globe.
  • Management of multiple moderate to complex processes in partnership with Regional Rule Authors and RCS Leadership at any one time prioritizing as appropriate
  • Provide feedback and recommend enhancements based on quality trends identified in proposals submitted and publication process across regional teams to ensure consistency and standardization in rules operations processes
  • Observe and provide trends and insights across processes for stakeholders and executive leadership in various roles across Visa
  • Ensure all processes are documented and managed within the global function, along with appropriately identifying and managing the risk and control environment in such processes.


This is a hybrid position. Expectation of days in office will be confirmed by your Hiring Manager.

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications
•2 or more years of work experience with a Bachelor’s Degree or an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, MD, or PhD)
Preferred Qualifications
3 or more years of work experience with a Bachelor’s Degree or more than 2 years of work experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, MD)
•Experience in oversight of or publication and/or procedure writing and governance or similar area
•Experience in leading teams and managing deliverables across global and regional teams in a virtual and in person environment
•Excellent presentation, communication, and facilitation skills, and ability to work independently and effectively in a continually changing environment
•Strong interpersonal skills and proven abilities in negotiating with and influencing business partners at all organizational levels, including strong written and verbal communications skills
•Demonstrated analytical, process and problem-solving skills, ability to be both strategic and tactical
•Proven ability to manage operational processes and accomplish results and exercise influence in a large, global, matrix organization
•Business acumen, understanding of the payments industry, including applicable regulatory environment, products/services, and the broader competitive landscape
•Proven experience in assessing risks across an enterprise, including operational, technology and regulatory risks, with a strong understanding of Visa’s risk management programs and approaches
•7+ years of relevant Risk experience within either financial services or technology organizations
•Commercial, front end, client facing experience and understanding of the Payments industry and relevant products and services.
•Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, IBM OpenPages (GoRO)
