About the location:
The Four Seasons Hotel Taipei is a new build standalone 250-room luxury hotel with a total gross floor area of approximately 35,000m2 located in Xinyi District directly opposite Taipei 101, one of the most iconic skyscrapers in Asia.
The Hotel will offer the very best in events, wellness, and leisure with myriad amenities throughout the 31-storey building. Dining venues at the Hotel will include a high-end Chinese restaurant, destination bar, specialty restaurant, all-day restaurant, pool bar and lobby lounge. Surrounded by expansive glass paneling on both sides of the floor-to-ceiling design allows guests to look out across the cityscape, as well as up at the incredible presence of Taipei 101.
About the Role
The Director of People and Culture forms part of the Hotel Leadership team who collectively make key strategic and operational decisions for the Hotel.
The Four Seasons Hotel Taipei is looking for a Director of People and Culture. Candidates with passion for excellence, expertise in hospitality operations and proven leadership experience are invited to apply for a career with Four Seasons. As a member of the Planning Committee, the Director of People and Culture works across disciplines to deliver an exceptional experience.
What you will do
-
Direct and oversee all aspects of the People and Culture division including benefits administration, employee relations, recruitment and retention of staff, communication to staff, career development of staff, wage & hour compliance, learning and development, workers’ compensation and legal matters related to hotel employees.

Monitor the quality of staff performance including review of disciplinary actions, recommendations for suspension or termination as well as establish a regular performance appraisal program for all staff.

Influence the quality, content, and intent of communications in the hotel and recommend the most effective vehicle of communication and the best channel to use in terms of ensuring that pertinent information is available to all levels of staff.

Assess the development and effectiveness of all levels of employees and the manpower needs of the hotel using succession planning and assisting management with career planning and counseling.

Prepare and review regularly the Human Resource budget including benefits, labor & salary reports and plan cost effective events within the Human Resource budget guidelines.

Establish and implement recruitment, selection, placement, and pre-employment procedures in accordance with Four Seasons Hotels and Resorts’ policy and all applicable laws to include hiring, staffing guide and compensation guidelines.

Analyse hotel training and development needs at all levels and create or coordinate the creation of programs designed to make employees proficient in their delivery of core and culture standards and prepare them for promotion from within.

Plan and organize overall work requirements of the People and Culture Department and delegate job tasks.

Good knowledge of local law is required.
What you bring
Education

Degree in Hospitality or equivalent experience.
Experience
-
A minimum of five (5) years of work experience as Director of People and Culture within the hotel industry.
