Job Summary
The Director, Paid Search & Affiliate will be responsible for leading, developing and executing comprehensive paid search & affiliate strategies to drive customer acquisition and revenue growth in an optimized way across all areas of our business, including B2C acquisition and customer base marketing as well as B2B. This individual is Optimum's client-side leader of the paid search discipline as well as affiliate marketing within the media team, supporting strategy, optimization, and analytics and collaborating with our media agency and external vendors as well as internal stakeholders to maximize the value and ROI the paid search and affiliate channels bring to our business. The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of e-commerce trends, digital marketing strategies, and retail partnerships. In this role, you will be responsible for developing and executing strategies that enhance our online presence, optimize our relationship with digital retailers, and drive revenue growth.
Responsibilities
• Develop & execute paid search and affiliate strategies to drive customer acquisition and revenue growth across Optimum acquisition, base management and mobile businesses, as well as SMB and Enterprise segments• Monitor performance of paid search and affiliate channels and strategize on optimizations to improve and maximize key KPI output• Lead media agency in hands-on execution of paid search campaigns with a leaned in approach• Lead external affiliate partners and serve as the face of this channel within Optimum• Establish and guide reporting to monitor key paid search metrics (traffic, conversions/ROI, keyword ranking, competitor analysis, position, quality score, etc.)• Understand customer journeys from media buy to onsite experience and overall performance across paid media campaigns and their impacts to sales across multiple channels• Collaborate cross-functionally with ecommerce, go to market, and marketing teams to deliver seamless digital experiences and align paid search efforts with overall marketing objectives• Understand Optimum's product portfolio, and offer segmentation structure and guide external stakeholders in ensuring flawless execution of ad copy and communication• Lead one internal direct report, providing guidance, training, and performance evaluation as related to day-to-day oversight and search/affiliate execution• Conduct market research and stay abreast of industry trends to enhance campaign effectiveness• Analyze data and metrics using search and web analytics tools to provide actionable insights, refining strategies for continuous improvement, and guide internal and external team members in doing so• Implement testing methodologies to enhance ad performance and drive innovation• Stay informed about search engine algorithms and industry best practices to maintain a competitive edge
Qualifications
• Hands-on performance marketer• 5-7 years of experience in paid search planning, analytics, and strategy • Proven experience in paid search and affiliate management, with a track record of successful campaign execution• Strong leadership and team management skills, with the ability to motivate and develop a high-performing team• In-depth knowledge of search activation platforms (Google Ads, Search Ads 360, Bing Ads) as well as proficiency with ad technology (tagging, audience targeting, customer match, feed-based campaigns) • Experience with Google Analytics / GA4, plus familiarity with analytics tools like Google Looker Studio, Tableau, or PowerBI, knowledge of Adobe Analytics is a plus• Understand website metrics and best practices• Analytical mindset with the ability to interpret complex data and draw actionable conclusions• Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams• Strategic thinking and problem-solving abilities to navigate the evolving landscape of digital marketing• Experience with B2C and B2B space• Proven track record building paid digital strategies as well as recommending and carrying out strategic optimizations to help improve and grow campaign performance• Ability to merchandise and rationalize strategies using verbal and written communication, including communication directed towards senior leadership• Bachelor's Degree from an accredited College or University

This position is identified as being performed in/or reporting to company operations in New York State. Salary ranges are supplied in compliance with New York State law. Pay is competitive and based on a number of job-related factors, including skills and experience. The starting pay rate/range at time of hire for this position in the posted location is $141,372.00 - $201,960.00 / year. The rate/range provided herein is the anticipated pay at the time of hire, and does not reflect future job opportunity.
