As Director of Operations - Predecision, you will lead an integrated and highly strategic approach from onboarding an application to reviewing bank transactions. You will guide a team of 2 long tenure managers and 80+ analysts. The key to success will be to ensure we maintain the right balance between automating processes and leveraging manual decisions, ultimately owning the operational performance of the Predecision area. You will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining a powerful, updated, and scalable workflow, delivering an operational strategy that will create process efficiencies and foster collaborations. Retaining our talent by creating a great working environment to get the most out of our people is also essential.
You will report to the VP, DR Subsidiary, and collaborate as a strong business partner with our leaders from Operations, Quality, Sales, UW, and People and Culture positions across the organization, including team members at our parent company, Forward Financing, LLC.
In this role you will:
- As a senior leader within the organization, develop, implement, and measure the effect of operational strategies to improve efficiency and effectiveness.
- Oversee the 3 different teams within the Predecision scope: Provide leadership and direction to department heads and staff, fostering a culture of collaboration and continuous improvement.
- Demonstrate a strong bias for action mindset, driving initiatives forward with urgency and a focus on delivering impactful results in a timely manner.
- Foster a culture of accountability by setting clear expectations, establishing measurable goals, and ensuring team members take ownership of their work and outcomes.
- Drive a focus on scalability, efficiency, and reliability by defining departmental OKRs, KPIs, and deliverables in collaboration with internal and external stakeholders.
- Actively monitor deliverables and operational performance metrics, addressing challenges proactively to maintain a focus on excellence and achieve organizational impact.
- Manage capacity forecasts, with a proactive approach to resource allocation to optimize operational performance.
- Collaborate, lead, and oversee cross-functional project teams in planning, executing, and monitoring strategic initiatives and projects.
- Promote a positive workplace culture, supporting staff development initiatives, including training, mentorship, and career advancement opportunities.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree; MBA or similar preferred.
- 8+ years of work experience, leading teams.
- Exceptional leadership skills that inspire and motivate teams, combined with an empathetic and thoughtful approach.
- Experience with planning, continuous improvement operations practices, Lean/Six Sigma principles, and organizational/talent development.
- Proficiency in data analysis and performance metrics. A problem solver who understands trends and has strong project management skills.
- Organized, service and detail-oriented, capable of developing and fostering a shoot-for-extraordinary mentality, remaining focused with high enthusiasm.
- Ability to handle matters of confidentiality with utmost tact and diplomacy while adapting to a fast-paced, excellence-focused environment.
Good to have:
- Familiarity with small business revenue-based financing or other financing options, including workflows, underwriting processes, and customer needs.
